Hitachi rear projection LCD with yellow blobs on screen

I have the same tv and the same problem, but my yellow is a cloud around the outside of the screen. My tv was recently moved, and a repair shop told me that sometimes in a move these tvs light engine takes a shock and causes a yellow "band" on the screen. I am hearing that these light engines are not cheap either. Hope this helps you.

Blue blob on screen

Took the TV to the shop...there I learned that the obtical engine assambly has been a pain on this type of TV. The repairer suggested on calling the company and to compliant about it, since there seems to be a known problem with that assambly. The company will send the part ($900.00 cost) to the shop and all I have to pay is for the remove and instalation of the assambly.

If you have the "red" blob in the center of the screen or you have "blue" blobs that show up in random areas of the picture then the only repair is to have a technician replace the optical light engine.

Hitachi 50v500

To all that are experiencing the blue blob. This is result of poor maintenance. Projectors must be kept clean on all air intakes. This is to help you all understand the failure cause. Usally not worth repairing.
