Please call hi point and ask them to email you the manual. Otherwise, you can reach out to a seller on ebay and amazon and ask them if they can create a listing that you'd be willing to purchase from them (ie the hi point manual).
try manuals.com for free download on thousands of manuals. also google you make and model along with the word manual and see what shows up. also try the manufacturers website.
No, there is no "master password" of which I am aware for those drives and I am speaking as a professional who has been in the business for over 25 years. Chances are that if you cannot get into the drive (and the drive is actually working), you will need to speak with Seagate (the owners of what used to be Maxtor) to see if they can provide you any assistance. However, as the drive is now ten years old, they may have deprecated it and therefore may not be willing to provide you assistance unless you are willing to pay for it (and may not be willing to do so at all, whether you offer to pay for the assistance).
If you don't have a credit card or debit card, there are many places that you can go and get a card that you load cash on to that can function like a debit/credit card. I know in my area many of the local grocery stores and super stores (Wal-Mart, Meijer, etc.) can do this. You just go in, pay them cash, and they can load it on to an account. Then, you can use this card like a credit/debit card to pay for things like this. The only other solution that I could think of would be to find a friend who would be willing to let you use their card, and then you would pay them by cash or check to reimburse them.
rather than find an owners manual if your willing to pay you can go to mitchelldiy online or alldata.com and about the same cost of a book you can subscribe and have all the repair info also.
You can get an owner manual at e-daewoo.com but you dont need it to install it, in fact it is pretty easy and if you need help to do that I can guide you to install it
