WHERE TO FIND A AC POWER SUPPLY

Most likely the bridge rectifier in the power supply inside the radio opens, sometimes there is a fuse. If it is blown then you need to locate the reason it blew. The problem is contained in the AC circuits since the radio works OK on 12 external volts. It can be fixed.

You'll need to bring the voltage down to 110-120 volt. Travel converters do this cheap and effective. The player only uses 12 Watt according to the manual. You could use an old 3 prong extension cord to cut of the connector to connect to your power supply. Get the converter below and plug it into the adapter, who then will fit in the extension cord.

DC Models ONLY
"This TV model operates on both standard household current (120 volt, 60 Hz AC) and car battery (12 volt negative ground DC) through the cigarette lighter. An AC power cord and a car cigarette lighter adapter cord are supplied.
Household Installation
Insert the AC power cord into the connection on the rear of the TV. Connect the two pronged plug into an AC outlet (120 volt, 60Hz). If you are unable to insert the plug fully into the wall outlet, try reversing it. If the plug does not fit, contact an electrician. Do not force the plug or defeat the safety purpose of the polarized plug."

The manual goes on to describe the vehicle installation which is identical to the household, with the only difference being the car plug goes into the DC side of the power connections at the back.

There are several kinds of power cord available for older TV models. Unfortunately, after an exhaustive search, I was not able to locate a photo of the back of that model television.
However, I have included three of the typical US power connectors found on a great many devices and in the majority of cases, one of these cords will likely be the one you need. They can be found at most local stores such as Wal-Mart, or can be ordered online from Amazon. Also, the cored generally only fit in one direction, especially if the cord happens to be polarized (thin blade and wide blade).

• For the Radio Shack TRC-447 this is just a standard 3 PIN DC cord. Many CB's use the same cord and they are interchangeable. Some Cobra, Uniden, Radio Shack use the same cord. Texxcomm is a great place to get parts from.

• I recommend an inline fuse for the power and ground side of the power cord. Of course you will want to consider the gauge based on the amps your CB draws. A nicely tuned CB should need no more than a 4 Amp fuse and 12 gauge wire to keep the unit from starving. Are you talking about the cord that goes from the adapter to the wall? If so, any electronics supply store like Radio Shack should be able to source it. If not you can try DIGIKEY.com.

On the side of the unit is a small black flap that covers two prongs that you can plug a standard 110-120 volt extension cord into which will charge the unit. There are 3 read lights and 1 green lights on the top that lets you know when it is fully charged. The 12 volt charging cord is basically a cord that has 2 cigarette lighter plugs. One plugs into the unit and the other plugs into a power port/cigarette lighter plug.

go to radio shack get a 12 volt 1500ma power supply with I belive it is a N% plug end but any how 800 ma to 1500 ma should run this and the plug end is standard plug with plus 12 volts on the inner side and negitive on the outer case side look at the back of the TV or the old power supply it sould have info on voltags and amprage, and the plug as to inner voltage and outer voltage on the plug any old time radio shack or electronics shop should be able to help you bring in the flat screen if need be as if you know its 12 volts then It wont mater weather you use a 1000ma 1500ma 12 volt ubnaversale power pack as the tv will only use the current needed so more MA is good the only concrn you have is the right mini barrle plug and the right side of +/- voltage on that mini plug being most use + voltage in the inner most circle and - 12 volts on thje outer
