My Panasonic TH-42PZ80B HDMI input seems to have stopped working. I was plugging in a cable from my laptop an lost the display. Scart is still working just HDMI has stopped. The tv still recognises something is plugged in because when you change to the laptop the laptop does the screen change as if it was to change screen resolution or whatever it does. Also when you turn on the tv it still turns on straight to HDMI input and changes its screen settings but still blank screen. Thought it migh be the port but HDMI 3socket on the front of the tv is also affected. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Did you remove the HDMI cable and try another cable? If someone hit the cable ends to the computer or the TV it could cause a short in the cable and/or cause a disconnect at the port on the TV or Computer. Try to remove the male HDMI cable to another HDMI female port on he TV and see if that works. Usually, if the TV reports HDMI activity but you cannot see a movie; the problem is usually at the Computer end.

SOURCE: HDMI inputs are not working

As crcelect suggests you can run the TV on RCA. You should also be able to use coax directly from your cable box. If you don't have cable you can use an rf converter to connect coax.
I have exactly the same problem with my Panasonic TH-42PX75U. I've been told that I may need to run a setup on my cable box to fix the problem. If I find a solution I'll provide details in a future post.

SOURCE: panasonic th-50pz80 10 flashing blinking red lights

The way to solve the problem with the TH-50PZ80U blinking light problem is to not buy Panasonic Products. I have had my TV about 21 months and it has started with the blinking light problem, just out of warranty. Panasonic is aware of this problem and refuses to do recall or fix the tv unless you are within the warranty or have bought the extended warranty. Legally they are within their rights, but I am also within my rights to air my complaint and inform others of this below par product. Who wants a TV that they have to unplug for a while and pug it in again for it to work. I want to push the power button and it come's on. I will never purchase another PANASONIC PRODUCT.

I have a Panasonic TH-L42U30 LCD TV and the HDMI input seems to have failed. Do you know what might be causing this and what a solution could be. Thanks

Try by change the HDMI cable first. If the cable has any internal break, HDMI signal would fail. If it is found OK, the firmware should be checked. If firmware to HDMI hasn't installed, or it is corrupted, this kind of fault can occur. It will be best to contact any service technician. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/

I have an aspire one laptop and a video convertor.

Are you connecting the svga out of the laptop to hdmi of tv via a converter? This set should have an svga input on it. try connecting this directly to svga on computer. Computers and converters and hdmi inputs on tvs are always a challenge. Newer laptops have hdmi outputs on them and are seem to work better.

Sony Viao HDMI to Panasonic Plasma TV HDMI Input handshake

Try all of your HDMI inputs, one may be rated at the correct voltage to be able to display the video. The offical part that Panasonic was giving for this was PDPHDMIKIT, its basically a HDMI extender that regulates the voltage. The part is still available online, try partstore.com or andrews-electronics.

Connecting asus M51V to Panasonic TH-42PX8A plasma via HDMI

Hi

Make sure your TV does indeed support the resolutions you are trying to use. Some low quality HDMI cables can also be troublesome in higher resolution so try one you are sure to work.

Regarding to the desktop only being extended when using the RGB cables, try bringing up the desktop properties window, select the TV as the primary monitor and select "Use this monitor as Primary monitor". You might have to drag the windows Taskbar over to the other monitor, just rightclick the taskbar, uncheck "Lock the Taskbar" and drag it over to the other monitor.

Hope you find this solution helpful, and please rate it if you do so..

best regards,

Karl

Try pressing input on your remote and make sure the source is selected to what you have it plagged in. For example cable box plugged into hdmi1 set input to hdmi 1. Also can you access tv setup at all? If not your tv might be bad to begin with.
