Connnected a PS2 to the PET 706/75.......some games sohow color...but with for most PS2 games I can see them as B & W on the PET 706 screen. Both the PS2 and the PET 706 are adjusted to PAL setting. I have changed the PS2 setting to RGB without sucess. However, I can play DVD movies on the 706 and on the PS2 (connected to the PET 706) in full colour.

Unless you can see a clear break in the cable (such as a pet chew mark) then chances are the cable is fine. Make sure that all of the ends are plugged into the correct port and that they are snug in there. Another thing to check is that none of the plug ports are loose or wobbly. Only real other thing you can do is make sure the TV is on the correct input setting. That will be determined by TV and which ports you are using to plug the console in.
Hi, these are reasons or problems that can affect ps2 color.
Its the model games your downloading. the unloaded didn't upload it right. The problem would have to be your PS2. When you modded it, the PS2 must have had something changed in it. That thing that you changed may not allow it to read the color on certain PS2 games. You either have to buy a new PS2, or figure out what you did wrong when you modded it.
its something with the chip u used... i did the same thing and replaced it and im working fine now... u should think about getting magic swap... requires no modding to play station and i hear from people that it works well
The thing in the back that hooks up to the back of the tv or cable connection needs to be changed
This may sound stupid and completely obvious, but mine occasionally play without color as well. Try jiggling the RGB cable from the back of the console.
because its the way they made them the only difference is the type of film they use other tha that game play is still the same
go to game stop or a game shop 4 them to fix or it might be that your psp had been dropped or something that happened to it .

JoTex.. The PS2 wont play blueray disks ..most of the older ps2 games have a purple or almost black color..Try checking the games to see if they are damaged, such as finger prints large scratches ect, try a dvd lens cleaner they are pretty cheep.(the disc type). the lens my be dirty,, or you can use a can of compressed air like the type for your keyboard. just spray inside with the disk tray open..hope this helps
try to trouble shoot if the wire is the problem, how? remove the 3 colored wires from the tv and ps2 then try to use the red color instead of yellow to the video from tv and ps2 (both red) temporarily do not use the yellow color. once a picture appears use now the white for the audio (both white) for left audio once there is a sound you may try the yellow for the right audio. i hope this will help you and hear a positve reply from you.
I have had this happened when the PS2 has heated up my TV's color was going nuts. The color needed for the different games is sometimes too much. Let the TV rest for a while, then the TV, game should be fine.
