My asus PC1005HA will not re boot after I upgraded BIOS

When I try to run it, the laptop goes to the XP Start screen, quickly followed by the windows was not closed properly black screen that asks you to open in safe mode, safe internet, last know configuration etc. WHen I click on any of them, a blue screen pops up for a second and it goes back into the same loop. I have tried re-booting from the Windows XP disc but I can't get it to install.

Closed the unit down
now press the start button and hold down the delete button to get it to start in bios
check the boot sequence there
adjust as required and save

SOURCE: I have been trying to install XP, the 64 bit

I think your problems are at least two fold. Firstly the number of characters that can be used in XP as file names is far less than Win7 plus you probably have a drivers issue.
Hope this helps but don't hold your breath as you need SP3 to be able to get any support from Microsoft.

Always get your drivers from the manufacturer of your Laptop, Notebook or Desktop.

If you were to log on to the manufacturer's web site, usually one is able to download if available, by model number, All available Driver downloads as required.

If the driver is not available, perhaps your manufacturer does not support the OS you are installing.

This is the best way of ensuring up to date drivers for your system and they are free of charge!

There are no XP drivers to be found with Microsoft as XP is no longer supported.

Some manufacturers may have a limited number of Drivers still listed.

I hope this helps.

SOURCE: when I turn on my asus netbook 1001 It says windows XP then tries to boot but goes to WE apologize for the inconvenience etc etc choose safe mode last known configuration or start windows normally

Try Safe mode.
Then once you're in, run your virus checker.
I like WebRoot.
Delete your browser cache, clean up the disk.
And email to yourself any files that you really want to keep so that you won't lose them in case the computer really goes down...

My asus eee pc will not start windows. I've tried pressing F2 (and the bios screen comes up) F7, F8 and F9 ask me if I want to run system recovery, but when I say yes, it acts like it's about to...

Restart your computer..start tapping F8 quickly..if you reaches advance boot menu..there select repair my computer..then select the language..then enter your username and password if you use any..in recovery options you can try startup repair or system restore options..lastly if nothing works then select the factory image restore which will take your computer to factory settings but delete everything

Windows XP will not boot up. After Asus start-up screen, screen goes black with blinking cursor.

That blinking cursor is the way in which the BIOS is telling you that Windows is missing - its most critical, core files have been corrupted beyond repair. The only thing you can do is to reinstall using the recovery cd or your own Windows install disk and an external cd unit.

Error - The Hard Disk Was Not Found

Boot into the BIOS, I think you hit the Delete key on Dell's to get into the BIOS, but I'm not sure. You should see some type of message at boot that says "To enter setup press XXX" Where XXX is the Delete key or some other key.

Once you're in the BIOS setup see if your HDD is listed. You may also find the option to reset the BIOS to default. Generally speaking this will not hurt anything and may be worth a try.
