SOURCE: Alpine IXA-W404 how do i can't get video to play.

You need to connect the yellow/black wire to the brake switch and the yellow/blue wire to the ground wire on the hand brake. After that you have to go through the task of holding down the foot brake, pull the hand brake, release the hand brake, pull the hand brand then release the foot brake.

after all that then you can watch your video. You will want to connect those wires so you can setup your system.

SOURCE: Bypassing the ebrake-grounding doesn't work on Alpine-iXA-W404

Found the solution

Either get a pair of toggle switches to simulate the Foot Brake and Parking Brake OR get a product (from PAC) that simulates it for you.

SOURCE: i had my alpine ixa-w404

Your Yellow (constant battery) wire is not properly hooked up. The yellow wire is what keeps power to your unit while the car is off so that it keeps all the memory. I would start by checking to see if that wire is connected right and if so, start to trace it back from there. Hope this helps and good luck!

Cant change the time on my ixa-w404

Ok it sounds like your stuck in the audio menu function. The way to fix this is by going to your alpine and unplugging your tr7 if you have one with the ignition engaged unplug tr7 then plug it in press setup for 3 second and your other setup options should be listed.ok if you don't have a tr7 bypass go through the parking brake unlock function. Set brake with brake pedal depressed release parking brake then pedal. Press parking brake then power unit and check setup.

Cant set the time

What you need to do is buy a PAC TR7 universal trigger module.Without this module you have to do some sequence of events with your brake and parking brake.and it wont let you program the unit. By default the TR7 is pre programmed for the video bypass. Even if you don't have any kind of video in your system you need this TR7 setup to program your IXA W407.

HOOKED YELLOWBLUE WIRE TO BRAKE WIRE STILL UNABLE TO SET CLOCK AND OTHER FUNCTIONS

WHY would you connect it to the brake wire???

You likely want to connect to 100% power from the battery. It should be fused however. Find where the clock in the car was/is powered and connect it to that.

Bypass iXA-W404

The 404 requires multiple signals from two separate wires to turn off the video block. Simply grounding one wire will not work. There are bypass modules that will send these signals to the head unit available on ebay. Just search alpine 404 bypass. Your other option is to use two toggle switches to simulate the parking brake and foot brake signals necessary to disable the video block.
