Scratched screen i have a 60'' sony sxrd dlp tv, scratched while moving it. when the background is white i can see the scratch, can i fix it

If the screen is scratched it will need to be replaced, so yes it can be fixed but it will be expensive. If you have nothing to lose you could try reducing the effect of the scratches by polishing across them gently with fine jewellers rouge, try a corner first as it might completely ruin the screen. Not too much pressure as you will damage screen further

I have a lcd tv that has a few black dots but it may be from a similar cause. During a move the screen was rubbed against i was wiping the screen later and picked a small piece of plastic off the screen. The moral is... the screens are sensitive to the touch and you should be carefull how you clean it. When i bought my tv i also bought a spray of deionized water. There must be reasons behind why we can't use windex or other chemicals on a screen these days.

Contact a service center for replacement. Seriously, the 60inch panel has to be removed in order to replace the front film which is no easy feat due to its size. Since it is already scratched though, you might try using a polishing kit to see if the scratches can be buffed out. Will never be back to original unless replaced, but might be worthwhile depending on scratch severity. Check with service center or local electronics retailer for the polish kit. Some rental places may be able to buff the display for you as well, but don't expect a guarantee of results. Worth the try though.

If there deep scratches you need to replace the outter layer and that could get expensive. Now if there small scratches a lcd repair kit would work. You can get those on line for the fraction of the replacment of the lcd screen.

Sounds like the line output transformer (flyback transformer) has gone out.Depending on how old the TV is will depend on if it is worth fixing

Unfortunately there isn't anything you can do. The LCD surface itself has been physically damaged and no longer works properly. This isn't simply a scratch. The only solution is to replace the display panel, and they are nearly impossible to find unless you are an authorized servicer working on a warranty repair. There are companies that sell parts removed from sets, but most sets are junked because of bad displays. Since the display is the single most expensive part, if you can find one it may not cost much more just to replace the TV. There's always a sale going on somewhere, and many online vendors as well.

Both the scratch and the colored lines warrant the replacement of the VERY expensive LCD panel.

ive tried the vaseline method (petroleum jelly) and you must be sure not to apply too much on the screen or else it will smudge around the scratch and it is hard to buff out, but if you fill the scratch in and wipe off the excess around it, then it should be barely visible.

most manufactures say not to have a still image on the screen for more than 15% of your viewing time. to fix this you will have to replace the optical assy. i did come across a sony projection where the burn in was actually on the screens themselves. the only thing you can try is to put an all white video pattern on your tv for at least 48 hrs.
