The Google Fiber remote control is not designed to fully control external audio equipment. Although you can control basic functions like volume up and volume down, if you want the convenience of using one remote to control all of your devices (TV, Google Fiber TV Box, and audio equipment), you might consider purchasing a universal remote control, such as the Logitech Harmony remote.
I would suggest you try to find a universal remote that has an "input" or "source" button and program that one to your tv. By pressing the "source" or "input" button, it will change the input to the tv.
I hope this helps!

Thats a bad button on the front keypad of the tv . The remote does not work because the tv micro sees a button pressed all the time and never listens to the IR reciever . If you pull the front speaker grill off you will find connector ZF just below the keypad or just inside the access panel. If you do remove that panel don't touch anything else.Just follow the wires down from the keypad to connector ZF. Connector ZF is inline with the wires to the front keypad. Unplug it . Then remote will work like normal. Use it like that or have the front keypad buttons replaced.
It sounds like you have a control panel problem. Switches go bad in these a lot. Try removing the top control panel and changing the switches. To remove the control panel, take the back off and look at the panel from the inside. You will see a tab that keeps the panel from sliding out of the front. push down on the tab slightly and slide the control panel out of the front. Take it to a repair shop and ask them if they have the individual switches as the whole board is no longer available. If not, remove the switches all together and leave the remote sensor. This will disable the control panel but the remote will still work. Good luck
Leaky tact switches on control panel. Part number is 242212802742. Takes 6. They will cost you around 6.00 a piece. Lower front panel pulls off. Be careful as there are two cables attached to htis panel. This should take care of your issues.
My TV was doing the same thing. Someone told me to disconnect the front menu buttons and this worked for me. The board goes haywire. You have to take off the front black panel on the bottom first then the grey front panel where the controls are. Once you do this you will see where there is a plug from tv to the panel where the control buttons are. Just disconnect. You will only be able to use your remote for TV. Its a cheap and easy fix. Just lots of screws to get the panels off and on. Good luck!
Check volume up switch in front panel locked continuously. If it is not take away the remote control from the TV or remove the battery in the remote. Because maybe the remote continuously sending volume up commands. Rarely this type problem occurs through remote control also. Even problem is not sorted there is problem in EEPROM ic (memory ic). This can be sorted out by the technical persons only. I hope this useful to you.
