Question about Lexmark X1150 All-In-One InkJet Printer
I have Windows Vista Home O/S, with McAfee security center. The printer will operate just fine, but, will not scan or copy. I have uninstalled the old software and drivers and downloaded the drivers offered from the Lexmark site for the Vista operating system. Each time it shows that it has downloaded and installed successfully. I will try to use the All In One Center to start troubleshooting the problem and it shows me a window that states the all in one center has quit operating. I have been able to use these functions before I updated the McAfee for a new subscription. I have also added the lexmark sites to allow them through the firewall. I'm lost Please Help!!!
If you are using windows xp home or pro and your scanner will not work and is making a clicking noise when you try to scan. this patch will fix the problem.

Lexmark all in one solution software you used in XP doen't work with Vista.
But you can still scan and copy by using Windows Photo Gallery.
1. Click on files tab at the top in Window Photo Gallery.
2. Click on import from camera or scanner.
3. Highlight your scanner icon (ie lexmark 2300) then click import.
4. New scan window will popup, now you can preview or scan using this basic looking Vista utility.

When somebody tries to install lexmark xp drivers onto vista it will install and will not show that it is the wrong drivers...
even someone tries to uninstall the the software and reinstall the vista drivers,certain files and related drivers might stay in the system and create problems...'
the best solution is to uninstall the software,then go into printers and faxes folder option in the control panel, delete the lexmark icons(make sure there are no documents in the queue...if there are any try cancelling them...if they dont cancel...unplug the cable and restart the system)...after this right click on the empty space in printer folder and select printer server...remove the driver packages relating to lexmark...
restart the system and install the downloaded driver from the website..(when you are downloading the driver it is always better to save it into computer and run it, not open it directly)..

The software for scanning is not included on the CD X1185 you have to go to the lexmark and find a new all inone printer and download the apps for it

Go to lexmark down load the latest drivers and software and install them.The printer will then work but the scanner and copy will not to get this to work click start computer drive C right click program files open from menu go down to lexmark X1150 double click right click aioc_app cut and copy into the documents folder close all and turn off printer restart pc and the scan copy should now work gl all

I have installed my Lemark X1270 to my computer( Windows Vista) although it can scan it doesn't print.the message that appears on the screen says that the printer is not connected .

To make it foolproof, first deinstall all your lexmark printer stuff, now deactivate ALL virusscans and firewalls. Now restart the computer and download and install the drivers for your printer. Make sure you use the correct o.s. and language version when downloading, dont connect the printer yet, only when the system aks for it, all done, reactivate the firewalls etc. and restart the PC. Hope it helped and good luck. (I got this info directly from Lexmark and it sorted my problem, was about to trash all my lexmark printers because none of them wanted to work on Vista :-)

Did you download the Driver for Microsoft Windows Vista,
And not Microsoft Windows Vista X64?
That is the only thing on Lexmarks website that mentions your problem.
