The Philips and Magnavox sets have a way of the anti freeze going
cloudy in the green and blue guns. Look (with a pair of sunglasses,
while the set is running)) into the lenses, and make sure there is no
haziness in the coupling lens (the lens the liquid makes up). This anti
freeze keeps the CRT cool since they are run fairly hard, and generate
lots of heat.
I have done 2 Philips sets just this week for anti freeze trouble. It
should be clear as water, if it is not, that is the trouble. Your
trouble could be that the anti freeze levels have dropped, the top of
the coupling lens chamber, when the projected image hits the front of
the set, appears at bottom of the screen. The image will be out of
focus in the area where the anti freeze is gone.
Look in the driver's side door jamb. There should me a sticker with the details of your truck.
At the bottom you'll see EXT PNT:
Mine says EXT PNT: SU
I believe SU is the the color code. You can probably order the paint from the dealer, or any good paint supplier can get you the equivalent.
Remember that paint can fade and change color over time, so if you're not a pro painter, blending the bright, new color will be very hard to do; you might as well just paint the entire panel or the whole truck if you're not already going to.
Hi, Check resistors might have cold solder joints are changed resistance values around replaced STK393-110 Pay attention to faded colored or fried resistors. You can download service manual for WS-55511 from HERE to get schematics and technical info. (download all 3 parts of file and use WinRAR to extract file) Good luck.
Each color (red, green & blue) has an amplifier IC (STK-).
When there is a convergence issue, the first step is change both
IC's for reliability. Then check for open fuses devices, usually
pico fuses.Then re-check convergence alignment.......T.
