Need manual for craftsman belt sander # 315.11720

Looks like a standard belt sander. If it does orbital as well there must be a switch on it. I can't find a manual.

Strangely, this is also listed as your model and this one is definitely a straightforward Orbital Sander.

Ah, I just noticed from the first link, the image is wrong and the parts schematic shows a plain orbital sander. It only has one function!

There is a leveling (screw/knob) on the side of the belt sander. Turn it up and the belt will drift in one direction. Turn it downward and the belt will drift in the opposite direction. play with this leveling screw/knob until you reach a good balance and the belt will stop drifting.

I found a PDF file on Sears.com website for the original manual for my belt / circular sander.
