My remote will not change the fan speed on my mini split heat pump in the heat mode but will change speed in cooling mode. checked batteries and pressed restart button no changes

Question edited for clarity, it is a 'Quietside' not a 'Quieside'.

Turn it off at the breaker overnight. This will reset the control board and all the relays. You really don't need Fan Model overnight, but if you think you do, you could try disconnecting power for 2 hours.

That is most likely the unit overheating and trying to cool itself off. Check any filters that are on it to be sure they are clean.

The fan will stay running to prevent the condensation from creating mold and mildew in the unit.

In some states and provinces of Canada, the Lloyds 'remote' CANNOT be programmed into cable vision providers!!!!!!!!!!

One provider 'Shaw Cable' has never heard of Lloyds.

What's up with this.....having to use Lloyds remote to adjust volume and mute, while using Shaw's remote to channel change.
That's just awful. Archie Bunker has it bedda.

In Auto mode, and jet cool or fast cool (if option is there in your remote), you can't change speed. Keep cool mode and then press fan again and again still you get required speed. Suppose, as you said beep sound is there when you select speed, check related speed terminal in PCB. If power is there, winding open in motor. If no power, replace/repair PCB. I think you keep in Auto mode. If in Auto mode, you can't change fan speed. Keep in cool/heat mode and then press fan button in remote to select desired speed.

Generally all the symbols on each unit are the same. The snowflake does cooling, the sun does heating, the fan does fan only mode, the water droplet does dehumidify and the arrows means automatic mode. The increasing bars refers to the fan speed.

Is this a Mini Split Ductless type Heat pump? Has it worked in the heat mode for you before? Have you tried killing and reapplying power to both the indoor and out door sections? Does it have a wireless remote? Are the batteries new in it?

I have to assume a lot because there is a lot of information missing to really know how to help you.

Sounds like your aircon is stuck on heating mode. Or. The outdoor fan speed is affected by ambient temperature, or low refrigerant. In heating mode the indoor fan will come on for a while to sense temperature and will then wait for the outdoor unit to pump up pressure and build up heat.

This is normal operation for these styles of minisplits. The thermostat is not in the remote but is located on the return air of the indoor coil, so the air needs to be flowing in order for the thermostat to measure the rooms temperature. Set your fan speed to auto and the fan will slow down when setpoint tempurature is met.
