Try going to HDMI Setup under the option menu. You should find an "audio select" option. Choose "analog".

Lux Audio 5.1 home theater speaker & Yamaha HTR 5540 AMP

configure ur PC (both OS audio and third party sound driver) for surround sounds. control panel- sounds and audio devices - speaker settings - advanced - speker settings. so this done. make sure u select the 6 input channel - the button is on the right edge near the volume knob. near the vol button there are two buttons for selecting input type with up down arrow. from that u can select the input type this will be indicated on the top front indicator. but with the 6 input channel selected all selections are preceeded. if u select stereo mode u will have left/ right audio only.
make sure u connect the input right. connect from computer to 6 channel input. main, surround, center and sub-woofer.  connect the spekers to main (L/R), rear(surround) (L/R), center and sub woofer to terminal marked sub woofer ouput. this done select like i said before the 6 channel button. that should do it.

Have digital feed connected (white, red, yellow) to DVD connections 6 & 13. Get picture but no sound. Sound is OK on VID1 input from satelite. Any ideas?

so you have the yellow out from dvd player to yellow in on the receiver (composite video) and the red and white out from dvd player to red and white in on the receiver (right and left audio channel) . you can also plug in the orange rca (digital coaxial audio) go to your menu on the Haman Kardon receiver and make sure you select the right audio input. mine is a Harman Kardon AVR146 push th osd (on screen display) on the remote. go ti the input setup and select the appropriate audio input

I change Component Cable Video & Audio 6 cables

I might sound stupid but Double check that you`ve connected the correct connectors as in All Inputs plugs being used or All outputs plugs being used. If you have one of these leads with 6 connectors on one lead, (Audio Input L+R, Video Input, Audio Output L+R, Video Output) You need to make sure that if you get sound from the audio input plugs, then you must use the video input plug and vice verse. How to play dts/dolby digital on HK AVR5

I believe he avr-5 has 6 channel inputs, what you will need is a dolby digital 5.1 and DTS outboard surround sound processor, say an item as the Technics SH-AC500 decoder, a Harman Kardon Signature 2.1 DTS version outboard processor/preamp, and many others on the market by different manufactors, Run the discrete audio outputs from the Processor into the AVR 5`s 6 channel inputs, select 6 channel input or DVD inputs on the receivers selector and your good to go. Be sure you are playing Dolby Digital 5.1 or DTS encoded material.

Connection of Panasonic DVD Burner to San Sui Surround Amp.

cant be done, the dvd wont record in surround. you could try a digital TOS, optical audio path and that may do what you need, usually the digital is an orange single input. TOS is the square one that looks like a little bulb on the end.

No audio input from video modes

First of all, there is no audio information on the video lines. These are typically used together with the audio lines to complete the interface between the source(TV, DVD,VCR,etc) and your receiver...accordianman
