The problem is my pc won't power up all the time. 1st attempt at powering up, the HDD light and cpu fan turn on, the second attempt, the power light, hdd light and cpu fan turn on, I have to unplug the pc, leave it for 15-30 mins and plug it back it and it will boot up. I have checked my hard drive for errors viruses etc. NONE. I have replace the motherboard, as I was told my a tech that it was the problem but the pc is still behaving this way. I checked all the cards, ram, and componets and everything is tight.

hi im josh! may i help you? i had the same problem of yours before but it was already resolved.i found out that the power led connection was mislocated. you can found this inside the pc.on the motherboard connection to power button.two small wires there try to check. hope i helped you.good luck.
Those are the cables that connect to the motherboard from the power switch, to the power LED and the hard drive activity LED.
Try following the diagram on the following page to know where to put them in: http://www.fixya.com/support/p365479-aopen_ax45_v_91_88i10_004_motherboard/manual-16477/page-29
replace your power supply, you need to upgrade this to at least 500watts to avoid problem like this, there is no problem with your hard drive its your power supply
Maybe something is wrong with your power supply. If power supply get old, it will restart the computer by itself. Try to borrow a friend's power supply and test it out.
if you have tried resetting the bios by putting the jumper across pins 2-3, then back to pins 1-2 and it still wont boot into the bios and you know the memory is ok, then the bios chip on the motherboard is damaged and may not be easy to replace as the board is quite old.
