Actiontec router log behavior

I'd like to find out how my Actiontec router (701WG) manages log behavior. Is it via file? If so, where? Is it stored in the router itself? If so, is it configurable?

The router does store the information in itself. The router has a small region for storing information on operations and logs. That log might be accessible from the router's control panel. However, every router is different and therefore I can't guarantee that your router will allow you to view its log.

Most likely the router will store the log in the same area used to store the Router's firmware. This is a relatively small storage chip with just enough space to support the firmware of the router, the router's control panel source files, and the log.

Let me know if I can explain anything mentioned above in more detail or if I can assist you with anything else.

I have actiontec wireless router we i try to log into it it wont take my password

You can access router setup page by entering the default ip of the router in url section of the browser( http://192.168.0). If you have forgotten the password. You may need to reset the router. Resetting the router will take you to the default settings so that you can reconfigure your router

Lost my security key for my Actiontec GT704-WR router and I can't get a response from Actiontec... any ideas?

if it is a wireless router and you have it set up and you have a computer wired to it then all you have to do is log into the router and look for wireless settings and it will display there.

Nonexistant customer service by Actiontec

After my second call to Actiontec ended with the help desh hanging up on me, Actiontec did respond to an emailed plea for help and prompty provided a complex script which they labeled confidential to address this problem. The bottom line seems to be Verizon either installed hardware that is incompatable with an Exchange server or they did not configure the insallation correctly. In so many words, Actiontec feels it is a Verizon problem. I wish me luck in getting to the right place to deal with that, even though I am a Verizon stockholder.

Actiontec GT701WG Router supplied by verizon with no instructions, any ideas

Here's a link to the Actiontec support site : http://www.actiontec.com/support/category.php?fid=6
I believe the model that Verizon deployed is not the 701WG, but the 704WG... the way you can tell the difference is either by the number of Ethernet ports (1 port = 701WG, 4 ports = 704WG), or by looking at the label on the bottom of the device.

If you're looking for an upgrade, you should check out http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=8661655&st=actiontec&lp=10&type=product&cp=1&id=1198888971179

Web log rest on actiontec gt704wg

According to the user's manual, the user interface doesn't seem to provide an option to "reset" the log. You can view it, and set how often it refreshes while you're looking at it, but I don't see any way to delete or reset the data.
