Powers down MWR10D6 powers itself off before completing timed recordings. It is not consistent as to when this happens - sometimes it will record one or two of the shows and then shut down without recording the last one. HELP...................................

Unplug it for about 30 minutes then plug it back in and try. If it starts giving you less and less might be the power board in the machine going out. Call the support line that is located in the front of the unit.

Trying to connect Magnavox MWR 10D6 DVD/Recorder to Sanyo HDTV. TV is connected to Dish network through coax. cable.

Unfortunately, the Magnavox MWR10D6 recorder can not record HD signals. It's only video inputs are coax (RF) and composite video; both are limited to 480i (SD). NTSC (analog signals) are translated to video.

Your best recording option is to connect the composite video output of the Dish receiver to the video input (yellow for video, red and white for audio) of the recorder. Then set the receiver to the channel that you want to record and set the recorder to Line In.

HD recorders may exist. They are much more expensive than the SD versions.

I wish that I had better news for you. The manual for the MWR10D6 is available from Funai here: http://www.funai-corp.com/support/om/MWR10D6.pdf .

After several months of inactivity (it's in a vacation condo) the unit will not not turn on, I have but new batteries in the remote and have tried to turn it on manuall, no power at all

It is possible the DVD Recorder took a power surge if it was left plugged in if not, then items that are left for a long time without use sometimes draws more power on start up than normal blowing the fuse.

Hi All,

This is a power supply problem.... the MR2920 stanby IC miss behaved, it power off and fail to power back on.

Solution, get pioneer power supply replacement or take the dvd recorder to your local electronic service repair to take a look at the power supply circuit.

My LG LRH-880 HDD/DVD recorder sometimes stops recording by itself, before the end of the programming and even if there is enough disk space left.

Somehow, my HDD/DVD recorder recorded correctly 2 times last night, even if I did not do anything specific to fix. I will keep an eye on new occurences of this problem, but it appears at the moment that the issue disappeared by itself.

Might be the PCA aka power calibration area portion of the lens that reads that might not be reading it. Here is a little bit more info on PCA.  Power Calibration Area of a recordable or rewritable disc that precedes lead-in and the PMA, where the optimum laser power level for writing can be determined by a recording drive
