From the sound of things, your keyboard is garbage. You may wish to try a different keyboard. If it still causes a problem, try a different type (if you're using the PS/2 jack, try USB, and vice versa).
this could very well be your OS as much as your keyboard. Try another board for a few days and see if it still happens. IF not...you found your culprit. Replace the keyboard or look for updated drivers if they exist.
I got a used MX3200, got the mouse working right off, but no keyboard. This solved my problem: with the wireless mouse working took out the keyboard batteries, pressed connect button on the receiver, replaced the keyboard batteries, pressed connect button on the keyboard. Voila!
I did the same thing. Here's what I did:
Took whole thing apart. Cleaned any coffee with q-tips dipped in water / paper towels. Removed the keyboard. Ran it through the dishwasher with no soap in it and heated dryer off of course.
I let it dry for a day and was bummed that now the whole keyboard stopped working. Well then 4 days later to my surprise / delight.. the whole thing started working again. New keyboards on ebay were also very reasonable. But mine still works perfectly after the dishwasher cleaning.
TO EVERYONE HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THESE MICRO WIRELESS KEYBOARD & MOUSE.. IM ON MY SECOND ONE NOW TOOK THE FIRST ONE BACK, CAUSE IT STOPPED WORKING WITHIN HOURS. SECOND ONE STOPPED WORKING WITHIN A WEEK.. EITHER THE MOUSE OR THE KEYBOARD.. ANYWAY, I THINK 99% OF THE PROBLEMS ARE THE BATTERIES!! THEY SEEM TO BE VERY ******* ALKALINE BATTERIES. I HAVE SWITCHED TO LITHIUM BATTERIES, AND SO FAR SO GOOD!!!
