We are trying to replace the black ink cartridge on our brother intellifax 2480C printer but even after loading the new cartridge the printer is indicating that there is no cartridge and the black ink...

Did you have the no cartridge prompt on before you changed the cartridge? If no, then did you remove all packing material. Is this the first time you have changed the cartridge?

Let me know

Changing Ink Cartridge

Hi,
Easy solution:
Press The index sheet button and the scan button at the same time.
In the printers window 'set up' will appear. using the left right arrows proceed to 'Ink cartridge replacement'.
Press 'start'. The ink cartridge holder will align itself in the middle of the space where it is easy to remove the cartridges.
I am disgusted with Epson making this so diificult to figure out. Once you know..then you know. but no amount of guesswork would have come up with the solution

Please rate!! Thanks, Prem

HP officejet pro 8500 ink cartridge problem

Changing a printer cartridge is not complex but improper handling of the parts may damage the printer and the cartridge. If the user notices that while printing the ink comes out dry or faded, it may be time to change the ink or the toner. The user will know if it is time to change the toner because instead of a sharp image, one will get a faded image. It is time to change the ink cartridge when the printing comes out spotty or colors are used to replace others —for instance, blue for black or yellow for red. Remember, faded images signal the need to change the toner; spotty printing signals the need to change the ink cartridge get more help for change cartridge .
Hope this helps you.

I changed the black in cartridge in my Lexmark printer with a lexmark #16 black ink cartridge(which I have done many times. It didn't print black Colors do print). I figured the cartridge was defective so...

Wweluvgolf, sometimes after you remove the protective tap from the ink cartridge, it leaves behind tape residual. Suggest you clean the ink cartridge's copper contacts with alcohol & cotton swabs. (No dripping alcohol). Do not clean the bottom of the ink cartridge. Also clean the copper contacts in the carriage. Allow all to dry. Reassemble & try printing a test page.
In the future keep your recipts when buying ink. From time to time you will buy a bad cartridge. With the recipt you'll be able to exchange it for another (free). Always store ink in it's upright posistion.

If this did not help please let me know & post the model number of the printer.

Luck!

Ink carts not recognised

OK, i know this one ;-)

1 take out the cartridge thats not recognised ( 1 or all dont matter)

2 do a ink change with no ink in

3 put ink cartridge(s) back in.... wiggle the cartridge(s) to seat the "chip" right

4 do a ink change again, if not just follow the steps again.

I had to do this 5 times the other day before it picked it up.

It does work
