Re: How do I erase a tape alreday recoreded so that I can...
Before you insert the already recorded tape make sure you close off the small square hole with the moveable tab(often green or red colored). After inserting the tape rewind it to the point where you want to start reusing the tape ,set in camera mode and hit the record button .

if one reuses the tape often, ive found that the tape stretches and no longer covers the entire record path (or play path) , i still have a few cassette and reel to reel decks that I still use , and since the tapes are hard to find now I keep reusing the tapes more and more 4 the same thing , I guess its been like in the past year ive seen this tape stretching thing happen now
Well....first of all....you shouldn't need to erase cassettes....this is done automatically when they are recorded over when reusing them. As far as finding replacement cassettes you should find them online with a search. You could try Ebay, or just a general search should turn up some suppliers, or used ones.
on this model sony it does not have an erase feature. I have called sony and confirmed this. The feature that would do that is called flying erase heads. So your option would be to either record over the tape or buy a player than can erase but a eraser is 300$usd-400$usd which really isnt cost effective just to erase a tape.

Only way is Play burned DVD in dvd player and provide Audio- Video out (yellow-red-white) to mini DV camera that has AV Line Input recording facility. Or find any Mini DV recorder and record tape. In that way you can record video again on Mini DV tape.
While holding down the Pause button, push Record. The display should blink the disc icon and REC. Then push the <<| until the display shows 001. Then push the pause button to start recording. This will start it from the beginning. You can use this feature to start recording at the beginning of any track you choose. You can download a manual for this machine at: www.minidisc.org
