I am replacing an older (same) model that will not swivel anymore. AS sent a complete replacement faucet, so I called them to see if I should take it apart and lube it with silicone (non-petroleum) grease prior to installation. I was told that it was properly lubed at factory and should be installed as is. Any thoughts?

Start by removing the spray head from the hose. Pull the spray head out and with a channel lock pliers unthread connection between the spray head and hose. BE CAREFUL not to let the hose fall back down into the faucet. With the hose directed down toward the sink test for volume by turning on the faucet. If you get a nice volume the problem is in the spray head. This is usually the case. Put the spray head back on then remove the aerator. It's the screen where the water comes out of the spray head. Clean out the assembly ( 3-4 parts). Reassemble and test.
Good luck, Phil

SOURCE: I need the installations for a American Standard
I had a similar problem where the Drain-Kit that I ordered was missing a part. After contacting American Standard and requesting a schematic. I realized that the missing part was the rocker assembly with stopper. I have a PDF of the schematic that I can send you if you still need it. Let me know. The alternative is to contact American Standard directly between 8am and 6pm Eastern and request the information. The phone number is (800) 442-1902 Option 3 then 1 then 2. Tell the person that you need the installation instructions for a 1583.470.xxx universal bath drain.
