Got an AsRock P4i65G mobo and bought 2 gig RAM for it. However, I have bought ECC memory by mistake instead of Non-ECC. PC wont boot with the new RAM. Is there any way I can get this to work such as with...

Hi, you can download a manual here:

http://www.asrock.com/mb/overview.asp?model=p4i65g

Your mainboard DOES NOT SUPPORT ECC RAM.
This ram type is ONLY intended for servers
or mainboards that are compatible for that ram type.

This is what your mainboard supports:

Dual Channel DDR memory technology
- 2 x DDR DIMM slots
- Supports DDR400/333/266 non-ECC, un-buffered memory
- Max. capacity of system memory: 2GB

Use only the asrock site when upgrading the bios.
And a bios upgrade does not supports the ecc ram anyway.

Hope this will help you.

Mobo power

Hi,
There are jumpers on the motherboard,
check all jumpers are set correctly, as from the user manual, this could be a problem.

check all your front lights are wired properly
power button, reset switch, must be correct too.
double/treble check them before building it.

Asrock p4i65g motherboard

Your current motherboard is an mATX form factor. I recommend staying with that form factor for your new motherboard if staying with your current case. When upgrading to the new board you choose don't forget that you may need to upgrade the power supply unit also. You should upgrade to either a socket AM2+ board with dual core amd cpu or socket 775 board with Intel Duo Core2 cpu.
