A friend gave me his KRZR and it has worked perfectly up until today! When it boots up, it immediately goes to the volume screen, and if you try to push any of the navigation buttons they don't work at all, or the phone will start scrolling through my contacts on its own. Also if you try to press any of the numbers, it only raises and lowers the volume. PLEASE HELP!!!!
Well worth a try...It worked!
This means that one of your volume up or down buttons are stuck or that they might be water damaged. Try to click on the one that you think is pushing by itself. Do you feel it clicking in?? If not that means its stuck in. If it clicks that mostly means that it has water damage. You need to open the top portion of the phone to inspect and clean the damaged button
As you said, the down volume is stuck in. Dusters don't work. The back cover needs to be opened so you can get in there and loosen it up or if need be to changed. Sorry, but only so much I can help from what you are describing, since your phone needs physical work.
I just had the same problem, left phone in bathroom and realised volume down key was stuck on. So frustrating as it seems to overide all other functions (couldn't get into any menus to make a call.write a text etc. But I seem to have resolved it without taking the whole phone apart. First I took the battery out; then I carefully pulled off the volume up/down sliver button cover - nails help for this if you have them! Then I put a hairdryer over the button area for a couple of minutes. Then I got a plastic paperclip and pushed one end into each button hole repeatedly; and finished off with another blast from haridryer. Replaced silver buttons and so far it's working. Well worth a try :)

1 - Switch ON your Motorola KRZR K1 with a NOT ACCEPTED SIM Card,
2 - Phone will display "Enter Special Code",
3 - You can now enter the Unlock Code.
NOT ACCEPTED: We mean, to use a sim card from a network other than the network your Motorola KRZR K1 is locked to.
WARNING: If one of theses messages appear :
- "Contact Service Provider"
- "Tampert Alter"
- "Wait before enter special Code"
- "Contact Service'
It's because you or somebody already entered too many wrong codes, you just have to leave the Motorola KRZR K1 ON with the errors message and after 40 minutes to 2 hours the message "Enter Code Special" will appear again!

I did all of this, and it was to no avail. There's no way that it could possibly have water damage, and everything looks fine inside. The volume key is popped out and at the same level as the other buttons, but the down volume key doesn't click. Ive cleaned it with dust remover (for computers, etc.) and nothing has helped. Any ideas?
