PRINTER I just got a new gateway computer GM5446E and I'm having trouble downloading an older printer HPT45XI.

If It's a new computer it probably needs 64 bit driver try this link

I wanted to provide some clarification to you. Once your devices (printer in this case) and computers are connected to your router, they have the connection. Now the communication settings between each computer and devices are to be configured on each computer individually. Obviously the first step would be to install the drivers that came with your printer on the new Gateway just like you did on your other computers. *This is undoubtedly where the problem lies.* You have a printer that was produced prior to Windows 7 being released. Check the website of the manufacturer of your printer to see if they have released a new driver for Windows 7. Download it to your new computer and install. That should take care of you.

The operating system as in; Windows XP or Vista.
If you don't know it, look for the My Computer icon and right-click on it and then choose 'Properties.' On the first screen it will tell you: Microsoft XP (or Vista) or even something else if it is an older system.
If it's either of those, make sure your connection between printer and PC is good, then try rebooting your PC with the printer on.
If communication between the two is OK and both the printer and PC's interface (USB, parallel, etc.) is working, Windows should recognized the printer and install at least a simple driver so you can print.
You might try the same procedure for your video camera.    

GAteway..not surprised. phone or email Gateway get some help..its the computer problem.

well i think you need to update your windows

Download the drivers for vista from Lexmark.com it will work fine............ 

It will definately work with vista too all you need is the vista driver installed.

try HERE for the latest driver. and select your OS..

this is the z705 driver, if you have another z7xx printer select "find drivers and downloads" from the left menu and type in your model no.

Insert the printer software disc into your drive and try to follow the directions from there. Before that you should disconnect the printer from your computer.

Download the drivers from here and install the Printer..... Thanku
