Hi, the problem you are having is with the phones firmware you will need to take this phone into a phone shop and have the phone flashed and the firmware re-installed, the problem with this is you can only have it done at a phone shop as they need to install all the software back on the phone and the other problem is that this will wipe the phone so you will lose anything on it.
you can back it up if you have the leads to your computer and the correct pc suite for your make of phone if you dont have this just ask the phone shop to back it up for you.
their is no other way of doing this as you cant get the firmware and re-install it yourself the phone shop will charge you for doing this but it will be cheaper if you go to one of those independant shops instead of one of thos bigger branded ones.

Ah, sounds like a nasty prob, I recently restored the factory settings as well but its ok so far.
Try taking the SIM n battery out and putting it bk in, dont turn the phone on, leave it on charge, then when the batterys full try turning it on, let me know if it works, email is [email protected]

LG mobile uk, have now released the newest firmware for KP500 Cookie V10d, BUT with also the Flash Loader Utility Programme that has stopped many of us upgrading the mobile, I have waited 6 months!!! But as of yesterday I was able to finally install new firmware. Follow the instructions, installing software PHONE SOFTWARE UPDATE then when you install it will take you through each step and install flash programme and drivers, once these are install it will ask you to take out your battery and connect the mobile to usb and pc, this will load the flash loader with success. Then remove usb pop battery back in connect mobile with connectivity PC Suite and away you go, it took about 25 mins and i am with Vista. Hope this helps so many. Guys, you probably know, what RTFM means? Read The F****ing Manual! It says that LG KP500 or Cookie, that one with a FreeTouch technology and a Stylus Pen atached to the bottom DOES NOT SUPPORT THEMES!
