I had the sound on for a few moments very softly then it went off again. The little speaker on the bottom says it is at54% the sound screen says the speakers are ok. I have no sounds to accompany logging in etc. and when the music is playing it was very faint now it is gone again.

Go into the device manager and tell me if there is any sound device listed in there.

Do you see a icon of a speaker in the bottom right hand corner where the time is?

When you double click on the volume icon (lower right down by the time) what does it say? Sometimes when you plug in speakers they automatically mute to avoid extremely loud and unpleasant eruptions of sound. Assuming all of that is ok have you plugged your external speakers into power? Computers require powered speakers to operate, either a/c or battery. They should have an on/off swith and a volume control, I imagine you've tried those? If yes right click on your sound icon and select sounds. Click on the playback tab and select your new speakers. Hit the configure tab and the set up will guide you from there.

If you hightlight the speaker you should be able to select properties. Select properties and make sure your speakers are enabled. Go back and right click your speaker icon open the mixer and make sure all of the sliders are up. If these are usb connected did you install the software? Select the sounds tab this will let you test for sound without running other software.

How to download music

hello there!

Simply, connect your MP3 Player or Digital Media Player to your laptop or pc via USB. Then wait to recognize it from your pc. When it recognized, usually it will prompt you that a new hardwared detected and ready to use. Be sure that your MP3 player is plug and play though. Or go the My Computer and select the new drive to use G:// or any recognition. and that's it you can copy songs from pc to the player. By the way, what is the model of your MP3 player?

hope it will help you! Cheers! don't forget to mark!

Mine won't play files

The songs are in the wrong format - it does not recognize iTunes songs or DRM-encrypted songs which do not have "transfer rights" (many msuic services - especially free ones but also paid ones - give you WMA's that have "play rights" -i.e. you can play them on your computer; but if they do not have transfer rights, they will show up in your player, yet not play correctly/skip).

Transfer only songs that are in Mp3 Format and you will never have this problem.

Mp3 cendyne 128mb wont be recognized

What services is it not showing up on? Windows Media Player? Try downloading Media Monkey (they have a free version) - it will recognize the player, and you can use Media Monkey to view, transfer songs.

if you have a Windows-based computer, you may have to reformat the iPod by going to My Computer, right-clicking on iPod logo, and then selecting "Format" player (only do this as a last resort - iPod's are generally so good that you just plug n play). The apple website has good info if you need Vista-related support for this.

Sansa M230 not seen in Explorer or Windows Media Player

We had the same problem with Windows XP. We found some help on the Sandisk web site. On the device go to the Settings menu, then USB. We changed from AutoDetect to MSC mode and everything is working again. Our computer saw all of the songs on our computer fine. Some of the old songs on the Sansa didn't show up on the detect list in Windows Media Player, but they were still on the device.
