Question about Cuisinart Food Mixers
I was mixing cookies with my mixer and it was working fine but as I started my second cookie batch the beaters started beating one another! What's wrong?
Hi. Kitchenaid's warranty is 1 year.
Most likely, the plastic transmission housing has failed, causing damage to the working parts inside your mixer. Take it to a local repair place and have them work up a quote to repair it. It will take at least a month to get the parts.

Try placing some "braces" rubber bands around the shafts of the beaters. This should tighten the hold of the shaft with the mixer and keep them more straight.
