Question about Sylvania 6424TFS 24" TV

I'm tring to change my sylvania tv 6424tfs to channel 73 it's not letting me

I have dish network the tv needs tobe on channel 73 for it to work. The closest I can put the channel on Is 69 it wont let me use 73

It sounds like the main system control memory IC to your set is faulty. Even though, this IC is very small in size, and very cheap to buy, the function to it, when the TV is switched on is great. Take it apart and wipe everything clean....I spilled soda on my remote and the same thing happened sometimes I'd push one button and I'd turn off the TV or go to the meny when I wanted to chabge the channel... A couple of screws and it will come right apart

usually u hv 3 wires: red white & yellow. yellow is video the other 2 are audio. yr TV should hv colour matches on the connections that u just connect into. cheers

Hello! I hope that you have gotten this resolved, but if not, here are some steps to do so. You can program the remote to the TV first and then use that for this, or you can use the buttons on the TV itself.

Remote to TV Steps:

1. Hold down the clear TV button until all lights light up at the top of the remote
2. Punch in a 3 digit code (provided below)
3. Press the # (POUND) button
4. Try powering the tv on/off, and the volume. If one or more of these functions do not work, start over from step 1 with a different code

Satellite picture back:

If you are at TV1, where the receiver box is located, the tv needs to be on channel 3 or 4.
If you are using a coax cable, the TV needs to be on 3 or 4.
Depending on the cable that is running between the receiver and the tv, the tv may need to be on an input, such as video 1 or 2. If you are at the TV2 location, where there is no receiver, then the tv needs to be on channel 60 or 73.
If you are using an HDMI cable, then the TV will need to be on an HDMI input
If you are using Component cables, your TV will need to be on a component input. (Usually Comp 1 or 2)
If you are using RCA cables, then the TV will need to be on a VIDEO input (Usually Video 1 or 2)

on your tv go to menu & somewhere there it will say scan for channels so it will scan for about 5 mins then grab your remote & turn to channel 73 & there you go . if not try moving the tv to a different source like AV or YDRB

Hey murphypat321,

Sounds like the TV may need to be on ch 73 cable rather than 60 air. Try switching the TV to 73, if it goes to 69 then put back on 60, if goes to 73 good. Once you have that set go to your TV1 and bring up the menu. Go to System Setup (6) -> Installation (1) -> Modulator Setup (5) and change the TV2 setup to either cable if on 73 or air if on 60 and the picture should come in if everything's hooked up.

Replaced a tv with a new this is controlled with remote # 2, get a no signal on the screen. This is a Sylvania model. Remote # 1 works fine.
Hi, Cheri Torres with DISH Network Customer Service here. The first trouble shooting step you are going to want to try is changing your channel on the new TV to 73 then if you still do not see a picture try channel 60. If you are still not seeing a picture you may need to change the options on your TV1 in the modulator set up screen. In order to change the options you will need to press the Menu button on TV1 then 6(system setup), 1(installation) and 5(modulator setup). Once you are in the modulator setup screen you will need to change the small purple dot from air to cable or cable to air depending on which spot it is already in on the TV2 out option. Once you have changed the position of purple dot you will see the channel number change from 60 to 73 or vice versa. After you have changed the number on TV2 out you will need to select done and cancel out of all the menus. Once you are finished you will need to go to your TV2 location and set the channel to whichever channel the modulator set up was set to, to see if there is now a picture. If none of these options are working for you, you may need to run a channel scan on your new TV. You might need to contact your TV manufacture so that they can walk you through the TV menus to run a channel scan. We would be happy to help with that. Some TV's are not ableto go as high as channel 73. This sounds like you're having an issue with yourTV2, this would be the TV located in a different room than your DISH Networkreceiver. Go to the main TV by the receiver, press the menu button located onthe top left of your DISH remote. Once in the main menu, press the numbers6-1-5, this will take you to the "Modulator Setup" screen. Once there we want to highlight the "Air"option located below "TV2 Out" then press the select button. TheChannel should change from 73 to 60. Change the channel of the TV you arehaving an issue with to channel 60; you should get the DISH Network programmingat that point. We hope these steps help you get that fixed. If this hasn't been resolved, I do have some steps that will help you out. The link below will walk you through a power scan, which will program the remote to the tv. At that point, you will be able to change the channels on the tv with the remote.

I cant get my Sony tv to change to channel 60 or 73 so i can watch Dish Network tv. Help Please!
It is probably a problem with your original setup if it has a built in digital TV tuner then you may have accidentally done a scan for channels. If you did not have an antenna attached to your TV then it would have come up with no results but would only let you go to one channel (whichever one you started on).

Dish dvr 625 can't get dvd/vcr player to work with tv2..
if you have the coax hooked to the VCR in you will need to change the VCR channel to 22 and leave the TV itself tuned to 3 or 4.. I recommend setting the vcr to 60 or 73 to see if you can get reception on there as that is usually the two channels that TV2 is modulated on. You can check the modulation by going to TV1 and pressing menu-6-1-5 on the TV1 remote. Thanks for using Fix Ya. If I can be of further assistance please let me know.

True GDM-12EM-LD Lights not coming on and display not showing USE was running just fine, now the fluorescent light won't turn on and the display board just has 3 dashes across it.
