Does the NHT sa-2 have it's own pre-amp? Because I'm wondering if the power off only works when it's own pre-amp is used? So when your receiver is connected it's shut off.
You could try something connected to it's own pre-amp (if it has one) and see if it goes off when there's no signal from that.
Hello guys, someone can help me ? i bought a sony cdx gt 520U , according to the manual there is a option in general settings were i can switch the SUB/REAR but i cant find it ...
i got few options in general settings like Clock,CAUT ALM,BEEP,AUTO OFF,CT,BTM,ZAPPIN
Have you tried changing the Auto Standby switch to ON?
You can prove if the sub amp will respond to a known good input by TURNING ITS VOLUME DOWN tp start and just feeding it ANY RCA output from the receiver while playing, say, FM (to keep it simple). That way you would known in which direction the problem actually lies (internal or external).
hi.. can you help me? my sony ericsson t280i cellphone's can receive a signal upon start up.. then after a few minutes on standby mode, it's got no signal already... what could've caused this? hope to hear from you soon.. GRACIAS!
OK, so with more troubleshooting, I was able to eliminate the problem with my DE925. It was actually the Vizio HDTV that was causing the problem, as I decided to route the optical audio from my DVD and PS3 directly to the same TOSLINK port on the DE925 and auto-decode worked. It was not the fiber-op cables either. This HDTV was a less-expensive 720p 32" model anyway, so I am not too concerned with the optical out working on it as I can run up to four TOSLINK connections in to the receiver.
Neither the amp or the sub have grounded power cords.
I have discovered the ML Dynamo takes about 30 minutes to switch to
standby in auto mode.
With speaker level inputs connected to the Onkyo
A807 amp, both units powered from the same wall outlet, Dynamo sub on
Auto, the sub hums for about half an hour after the Onkyo is switched
off, then the sub goes quiet. Not so good.
I connected a bonding wire between the two units on 3_7_09. If I smoked
some old audio gear I could just look at that as an opportunity, right?
Works fine. Now I have the ML powered from the wall and working
normally.
First, look at the sub, their should be a switch for "auto" "off" "on" switch it to "on" Then use the Left input on the sub not the right. Left is for mono. Now, if you still dont have any sub, disconnect the RCA at the receiver and touch the end of the RCA, if the sub is on, you will hear a loud humm. Now, go back into the receivers Menu and go into manual setup, find "Audio" and select "Auto". That should do it. If not, put the receiver on "Tuner" and set the sound to 7 channel stereo (I'm not sure if the HTR series has this) or "Adventure" I'm a Yamaha RXV series Dealer so the names may differ. (check in manual for audio surround settings) Anyway, this should let you know if you've got all your spkrs working. Then make sure your TV's external audio is set to "Fixed" (it may be called audio out) depends on TV type. Scroll thru TV's audio menu. If you still have problems post a comment and I will help some more. Hope this helps
clicking sound? most receivers resort to this trying to determine what the input source is, and mainly if they are trying to determine if it is a analog or digital input signal, try setting the input source switch to AUTO if available, this way it will recognize the signal and switch to that input mode.
The receiver automatic speaker set-up set the sub volume at -12 and since it was not getting any signals from the receiver it was doing what it is supposed to be doing (going to the standby mode). This was troubleshooted by Onkyo tech support on a Sunday. All the best about Onkyo customer support.
thank you!
