it seizes up because their is a very hi draw on your battery when the motor is turning over, the starter draws so much power from the battery that it drops the voltage down below what the depth finder needs
Yes... or it is unplugged... or the wire is broken...
Typically you hear a clicking sound at the transducer when it is powered and running but in your case all function is missing from the display and temp and depth is off of the transducer..
Assuming you're talking about a Depth Finder or a GPS... if it's depth finder, I had a similar problem on a Humminbird Depth Finder... the issue was holding down the power button too long. If you push it long enough for the system to light up and let go, it should solve the problem. Holding it down longer takes it into Simulation. Hope that helps.
I've got the 565 and everything will be working fine and then the depth
finder or bottom of the lake goes to 6ft. Have to shut it off for an hour and it works for a wile but it always goes back to doing it
