I turn my PS3 on and it wont read the disc's ive put in, it says it's loading in the top right of the screen but nothing happens. I have put many disc's in and there isn't a problem with them, so it must be something wrong with the PS3.
I think you are right, try checking the laser that reads the discs see if it is clean, and yes that may mean taking it apart (No I don't know, because I don't have a PS3)
Please consult to sony technician.there is nothing you can do because your laser or lens which read your disc probably either dirty or damages...if it is dirty, i suggest you to buy disc that has a tiny brush attach onto that disc...but if it damages,well.............

If your Ps3 has trouble reading all discs, then the lens could hardly read them due to it being dirty. Try to use a disc cleaner and let it spin for like 30 seconds. If this does not work, you need to manually clean the lens opening the casing and removing the screws covering the lens. Get a cotton swab and damp it to an alcohol. Gently wipe the lens' surface and let it dry. Then return everything back and try playing those dics again.
Please let me know how this goes. Thank you for using FixYa.
Hi there, this is not a motherboard issue, this is a blu ray lens issue. When they become faulty they refuse to read discs hence the loading sign and nothing happening. It is attempting to read the disc but cannot. You can purchase blu ray drives for around £60 off of ebay or you could buy a faulty PS3 that the blu ray drive is good on and use that, usually they sell for around £50.
aight now as you turn on your ps3 rub the top of the ps3 in a clock wise rotation just above where u put the disk in. it works i do it every time my system cant read a disc hasnt failed me 1nce
I have the same problem, it's error 80010514. An error occurred during start up operation. That's what you would see on your screen if the disc would even get read. Your ps3 is screwed. Call 1-800-345-sony and talk to them. They will tell you that you need to send it in and if your 1 year warranty is up you have to pay $150. I'm waiting for them to send the coffin to send my ps3 back in
same my ps3 won't load
