Goodman split not responding to remote

Have a Goodman split in my place. Turned on for some heat this morning, and then went to turn it off about 40 minutes later, no beep, no turning off. Got back this afternoon, tried new batteries in remote, no response from unit.

Tried holding remote directly up to IR eye, no response.

Have no manual, appears to be no way to turn off on the unit, Goodman apparently does not have downloadable manuals.

Other symptom, remote changes back to Celcius frequently, apparently on its own.

First turn the main power off to the unit at the breaker, wait about five min. and switch the breaker back on, then see if this solves the problem. In the instalation manual that came with the unit on the last page you will see a code of the red blinking light, this will tell you the most likely problem if not solved by switching the breaker on again.............Hope this helps

My Goodman split unit has bumping/knocking noise sometimes (not everyday) when heat first kicks on in the mornings only. What could this be? Also in defrost mode should the unit blow cold air?

May be the fan in the external unit is ruined or the internal pump is comming loose. But note that the pump also make much effort until the gas flows smoothly through the pipes .

Our older model amana wall unit is in the garage and worked fine until we programmed a new remote control garage door opener in there this morning. The ac unit was not on at the time but we went to turn it...

If it says E0 then what this usually means is that the unit was unplugged or power was cut to the unit while the unit was on. It then needs to be programmed again. If its the amana/goodman RSKP0009, you need to hold temp up and down arrows down together for two seconds then press off twice. It will take you into the programming mode. Settings are different for heat pump and electric heat models. If you just need a quick fix to get it to cool, I think you can get away with pushing the heat button a few times and then off. If you did it right the display should go off and the light by the off button will turn on. Press cool and it should work.

Have an LG split system air conditioner. No way to turn it on or off on system. Remote only and it is not working. Did this a week ago and changed batteries, took a while before new batteries worked as...

Before buying new one, try with this step. Remove batteries from your remote and reset it after 5 minutes. And also remove DC wires plugged to indoor sensor display, and after 5 minutes re set it again. Now start your unit. Sometimes it will work out. Thanks.

Intermittent pefrormance of GDT070-3A

It probably went thru the 3 cycles and shut downed. To reset it you have to kill power and restart it, sound like loose connection .
