You will have to install the drivers for it. Go to the website of the manufacturer of your pc, Gateway in your case, and search for support- downloads. Then download the drivers for Windows 8 and install them.
It could be a graphics driver issue or a uefi problem if its windows 8 from the factory and they are saying unplug it from the wall wait a few minutes plug it back in u can also try using a second monitor as I have had several hp and gateway all in ones with hdmi power issues that turn off the internal display after a few minutes

You need to find out what Co. made the touchscreen for that model to see if they have updated touchscreen drivers for windows 8. Sounds like your machine was intended for XP, Good luck!

I just bought one of these used, It had a fresh intall of windows XP tablet. When I got it the touch screen would not work. I have tried dowloading the drivers. I download Motion dashboard for this model. When I open it is says" Dashboard can not be run on this computer" I dont know what to do??
