I have the same problem except my mp3 player is a Creative Zen Micro. I connect it to my computer via a USB port and my mp3 player is clearly on because the bright blue light fades in and out and it appears to be charging (the battery symbol has a lightening bolt). But for some reason everytime I insert my player in my computer, a notice comes up saying that my computer is unable to recognize the player. I've tried all sorts of variations: turning off my media player then plugging it in to my computer, connecting to computer then turning off then back on again, etc. Nothing works! I would be very appreciative if someone could help me with this problem.

Make sure you have media player 11
If you can, the best test is to try your player with another PC, to see if you still have the problem. This localises whether the problem is with the PC (most likely the USB) or the player. See the link below (search on "connection problems") for a lot more troubleshooting on this.
Download recovery tool off creative's website.
go to my computer > click on hardware tab >
click on device manager button > in the is next screen on the bottom should have>>universal serial bus controllers
(write these down just in case it cant find them)
right click on them and uninstall
reboot let windows reinstall them

Also told Microsoft hotfix causes this problem try uninstalling the last hotfix
If that doesn't fix it try the USB cable

In order to put music onto your iPod, follow these steps:

DOES NOT RECOGNIZE PLAYER WHEN CONNECTED

ive got the new version of the sony sonic stage downloaded onto my laptop, and when i plug my player into my laptop via usb cable, the player itself is recognized straight away as a harddrive/removable disk etc,and you have to transfrer music onto the player as from sonic stage music library, and you also have to creatate you own music library via sonic stage, and u can also transfer music from your own music library wich you use via windows media player, and also u can transfer a cd into you sony sonic stage music libraty, and this is similar to when your using the windows media player as to rip a cd or transfer music onto an mp3 player,as i use all diffrent types of mp3 players myself, and i find the archos gmini sx 202 player to be pretty awesome player,as ive got to of them as well, and i use windows media player as to transfer music files onto them, and i cannot transfer any music files onto the sony ones via windown media player as those music file wont show up on the player at all,and ive tried this myself, and it will only work via sony sonic stage.

Sandisk sansa 4 gb ( 4 68 ) MP3

Make sure USB mode is MSC....If this doesn't work make sure that you are connected to a 2.0 USB port....I had to install the update on to my labtop and finally it recognized it and updated....
Download Update if you haven't yet(http://mp3support.sandisk.com/sansa/Installer/1082/SansaUpdaterInstall.exe) this comes with A mediA converter ...Try and drag and drop from your music folder to the media folder on the player make sure usb mode is mtp this will show you all the folders Use your windows explorer for the transfer... much easier.....
Then connect to your computer and see if it works
Hope it does..........Please rate

How do I transfer music into the MP3 Player from rhapsody list?

First, read your manual.
Second, find the name of the folder that the Rhapsody songs are stored in, and copy them or move them to the "My Music" folder on your computer. If you are handy with computers, instead of moving the Rhapsody songs to the My Music folder, go into Windows Media Player instead - click the arrow underneath the Library tab, and select "More Options" --> Library --> Monitor Folders --> Add the Rhapsody folder to your list of folders.
Third, make sure you have Windows Media Player installed on your computer, since that is the program you will be using to transfer the songs. Click on the Library tab, and make sure that the songs show up on your computer. Once you see them, click on the Sync tab and start dragging the songs (no more than 10 songs in one sitting) to the window that says "Drag files here to synchronize..."). Click Start Sync.

Warning: Some GoGear models recognize Rhapsody songs and others do not. If you have Rhapsody's Mp3-Only service, then you are in the clear no matter what model of GoGear you have. If you have one of Rhapsody's other subscriptions, you may be in trouble. If your Go Gear is truly an SA6045, it will recognize DRM-protected Rhapsody songs, so you will be OK. If you have an SA3025 or one of the newer models, you will only be able to successfully transfer songs by signing up for Rhapsody's Mp3-Only service.

LOSS OF MUSIC - HELP

Uninstall everything from your PC, reboot, reinstall driver and the Explorer (I do not use MediaSource, only the Explorer).

If it didn't work out follow these steps:

1. Uninstall Creative Media Source and all related software.
2. Install the driver. In the installation CD the driver is usually in \Drivers\English
3. Turn on the Nomad an connect it to the PC.
4. Install MediaSource(the program requires that you have the nomad connected while installing)
5. Install MediaSource plugin
6. Try transferring files.

If you?re still running into problem know that there are other programs capable of handling MediaSource?s functions, such as - Portable Audio Devices Power Toy , NomadSync, Real player, and there?s also a Zen plugin for the Winamp.

Good luck!

Unable to see Albums in my music library

When you open Windows Media Player, as long as the computer recognizes your Mp3 player, you should see an icon of the Mp3 player on the lower left hand side of the "Library" tab - click once on the plus sign next to this icon to expand a list of folders - "Songs" and "Albums" should be among the options.
