Ummm did you FIRST install the drivers? I have one, and you FIRST have to install the drivers, some MP3s are already supported by windows by default, but this ones requires it's own drivers!

I still don't have a solution. It did work a few times where it would connect to the computer but just quit connecting. I have checked the cable and the USB port and both are fine. Walmart only takes these back for 15 days and the manufacturer only warranties them for 90 days. Mine is 95 days old so I suggest you not buy this brand or get an extended warranty. It would have to be an aftermarket because walmart doesn't sell one with this player. Also the iLo is not available on their internet site ( wonder why?). It still plays the music I have downloaded to it just can't add or subtract any more to it. It's $69 down the drain!!!

Does you computer detect a new device when you plugged the Coby MP3 player?
If Coby MP3 player has cd driver, better to install it to your pc. Some computer/laptop doesn't detect autoplay when new USB device plug-in
Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.
I had the same problem but on different computers, home works great, office won't detect it. Try using some other computer just to see if it the players fault. I am loving my ilo, but its just day 2 so hope it stays good pwatson
