I want to add my daughters lap top on to my network. I forgot my passkey. Is there any way of reseting the WBR1310, or to find my passkey.
i have forgotten the passkey to put another laptop on the network
You can also go to the routers configuration page if there are other settings that you do not want to reset on your router. You will need the ip address of the router...
1. open a cmd window if using vista type "cmd" in the search field and then hit enter. If using XP click start --> click run --> type cmd and then hit enter.
2. at the command prompt type "ipconfig" and then enter
the line that says "default gateway" followed by an IP address is your routers IP.
Now open internet explorer or which ever browser you use then type the following in the URL block. "http:// your routers ip from previous step" and enter. This will bring up your routers configuration page where you can change whichever settings you like.
Note: if you change your passkey/passphrase (it may not be displayed) you will need to reconnect all of the computers and devices on your network with the new passkey.

reset the router to factory default. if you are confident. it is a small button at the back. press it coupel of sec then release. Then you can reset the password.
The question is kind of odd. RETRIEVE meaning you once had it? Add like security to your lap top? I think your asking for how to access a router with security? Reset your router by pressing the reset button. This will remove the security. Connect to the router, access its menu, and add security again.
Make sure the wireless capabilities are turned on on your router. On your computer scan for available networks and it should detect the router. Once detected it will ask you for the Passkey/WEP/Secutity Key. You should have a note of this when you originally set up your wireless connection. If not then your computer network set up wizard may 'kick in' and just follow the instruction. Remember to keep a note of your PASSKey/WEP as you will require it in future
You are supposed to set that yourself. Read your manual (they have electronic manuals on the dlink website). type "192.168.0.1" into your web browser and you can configure your router from there. Just click the wizard button and it will guide you through everything.
There should be a reset button on the back of the router that you press with a paper clip for 10 seconds, and that resets everything to factory default settings.
