Lol, batteries >> TC clearly states wired controller >>
Anyways, on topic, if reinstalling/updating to most recent driver doesnt work then try your wired pad in an xbox 360 (if you have one at hand) if it doesnt work then its an issue with the pad itsself and unless your willing to fork out for repairs or do a bodge job, then buy a new one. If it works fine in the 360 thens its your pc thats the problem, enter you sys32 folder and delete every thing to do with the xpad then reinstall the drivers, if that still fails to work then it could be your usb port. Keep fissling around and hopefully you should be able to get it working. Good luck!

Wired 360 pad isn't working

I had same problem..if u have a dance pad with foam inserts....take out the insert and try to start up without them....the problem we had is one of the inserts was putting pressure on one of the buttons preventing xbox from reading pad...if u don't have inserts one of your buttons is sticking...give it a shake and try again....we fixed ours by simply rearranging the inserts...hope this was helpful

X BOX 360 ROCK BAND 2

if they're wireless you need to sync them with the xbox. theres a button on the drumset that is small and round with three smiley lines push that then push the one on the front of the xbox and it should stop flashing and one light will light up. good luck!

RED lights flashing

This is going to sound like a very strange solution, but it worked for me, twice. My xbox 360 gave me the red ring of death once, and in my despair I asked a few friends about anything they can think of, and one suggested letting it run for 10 minutes while wrapped in a towel, or blanket. By that point I was desperate enough to try it (I had bought a refurbished one, so it wasn't under warranty anymore), and lo and behold, my xbox 360 is as good as new. Basically what you're doing is shocking the system into working via overheating... I know that doesn't make much sense, but, like I said before, it worked twice for me. Hope this helps!
