Question about Kirby Generation 3 Bagged Upright Vacuum
The hose actually attaches directly to the hole where the bag was. There is no other attachment that the hose needs to connect to. The thing that you put on the front is called the intake guard.

Not sure what these parts are officially called, but...
There is a sort of blank cap that replaces the floor attachments. It has a plastic grill front to keep fingers etc out of the input while blowing. Then, the bag unscrews, unlocks with a partial turn counterclockwise, and PULL. Then there is an attachment that replaces the bag holder and the hose fits on this attachment.
That's it. Now the input is shielded, and the output air comes out the hose. If you want, you can also take the upright handle off and put the small handle on to hand hold the body of the machine while blowing. One safety issue - the holes in cap on the input side are certainly large enough for sand or small debris to pass through it. This debris would then be ejected out the blower side at high speed.
