Can't match the four slots in the battery to the numerous pins in the charger. It blinks the green and then tne red light, but they go off instead of turning continuous red as in charging.

Maybe. This unit charges all different kinds of batteries, but that requires you to make sure that you have set the prongs in the right position to connect with the particular battery you are charging. You move two pins to align with the outer contacts on your battery (not the middle one) and then a spring door holds the battery against them. The unit sets the polarity automatically. 4 lights blink green until the battery is fully charged at 4 solid lights, i.e. 1 blinking light is a quarter charged.

Ok all mine had the same problem however problem has been solved! The power cord that plugs into the charger is a common cord you may have laying around the house. I switched the power cord to my charger and the dreaded blinking stopped! Its just a bad power cord to the charging unit! Hope this helps!

Hello sandra,
Unfortunately this generally means that the battery has gone bad, and needs to be replaced. Luckily they seem to be very reasonable in price.
