My Brother MFC 7420 said drum end soon, so I ordered a new drum. Then I waited for something to go wrong before I replaced it. Basically I was looking for a deterioration in print quality. I waited and waited. I think it was over 3 years. I replaced the toner a few times. While the print quality never really went done, the frequency of other problems finally shot up. When I replaced the drum the problems went away. My advice -- ignore the warning unless you have other problems.
