Bernina 1530 My screen is so dim that I can only read it if I tip the machine almost "on its back." Do I need a new light or do I need a new motherboard?

The G2 Stitch series on the Bernina 1530 Inspiration is a set of decorative stitches that are programmed into the machine's memory. To access these stitches, follow these steps:

1. Turn on your Bernina 1530 Inspiration sewing machine.
2. Use the stitch selector dial or buttons to select stitch number 800, which is the starting point for the G2 Stitch series.

If you can join the Yahoo group "BerninaThirtySomethings," there are a lot of conversations there and documents that explain how to fix the stuck basting stitch. It is rather difficult to explain so that would be the best source. (You will need a Yahoo email account to join the group.) A Bernina technician can release that for you.

You might check out some of the older Bernina manuals to get an idea of how it may work in your machine. The 1260 is the closest manual available. Looks like your machine takes the same push-in bulb. So, you would push up on the bulb and twist. Then you would install the replacement the same way. Sometimes, using tight fitting medical gloves helps grip the bulb in order to twist.

BTW--I have older Berninas and upgraded their bulbs to LED.

If the screen is not lighting, then a computer component is probably malfunctioning. Probably best to take it to Bernina for service.
