When we see high page volume in these printers, the cleaning ink resorvor needs to be cleaned. It may be even to teh point of stopping the head cleaning carriage from functioning.

It sounds like it is not priming and wiping the head of the cartridges correctly.

You can also try setting the head of the cartridge on a damp warm (water wet) paper towel. If there is ink coming out onto the paper towel you know it is the printer not the cartridge. If you are not seeing any color then I would change the cartridges again.

Does the hp deskjet 920c inkjet printer need to have ink in both cartridges in order to work?

yes hp was very clever in this if one cartridge is empty then it will not print as they run in path. i think its so you have to replace them more often so hp gets more money but whats new.

Light flashes cartridge change, and change the cartridge and still flashing hp deskjet 920c

Hi,
Make sure Orange protective cap (tape) has been removed from the bottom of the ink cartridge.
Either ink Cartridge is not installed properly or the function for detecting the ink level is disabled. Make sure that you install ink cartridges at correct position as indicated by the label on the print head holder. Press PUSH mark until ink cartridge click into the place.

Hope this will solve your problem.
Thanks for using Fixya.

HP 920c does not print color. I have replaced inks - color & black. When I switch mode to B&W only, all images and text prints. When i switch back to color, only the B&W stuff prints

Try reseating the color cartridge and cofirming that the blue/green tape was completely removed from the back and bottom of the cartridge. Run a head cleaning and if that doesnt correct it then you may have a bad ink cartridge. It is possible that the printer is bad but I find that unlikely.

My printer could not print

Try installing the color cartridge. Some printers won't work if one of the cartridges is empty or defective.

The printer HP920c ink leaks

The Cleaning station is filled with ink AND the cartridge is broken, this can be caused by using a [poorly?] refilled cartridge.
To solve this you have to disassemble the printer and clean the cleaning station, replace the absorbent pad and replace the ink cartridge.

Printing problems

Are you using remanufactured cartridges? If so, I would strongly recommend that you replace with factory HP cartridges.
