Question about Maytag MDB7100AWB Dishwasher
Im having problems starting my Maytag MDB9100AWW Dishwasher. I had to take it apart to clean out debris left inside by years of use by kids not doing a prerinse before putting the dishes in. Once all cleaned out and put back together , I got about ten uses out of it and then it just stop working. That is to say when you load it and shut the door, and push the buttons nothing happens. I have opened and closed the door , pushed and pulled and played with buttons and got it to work a couple times. Making me believe there is something wrong with the door safety switch or it needs to be adjusted. Either way , can you give me some clue is to where the safety switch is located so as to adjust it or how to start it up if that is not what you think is the problem.
We have this same model. Right under the 5 yr warranty mark, the control panel started going "funny". Some of the buttons stopped working, then more. We could finally get it working only in one mode. I was certain it was the control board, which I replaced under warranty just in time.
This lasted another year, until moisture began appearing under the number window and the left side button set stopped working. Now the right side is gone, except for the delay-start button.
I believe moisture is getting into the control board and frying it, either slowly or quickly. If you are seeing similar problems where buttons seem to stop working, it is PROBABLY the control board. It is a relatively easy home repair if you know your way around a screw driver.
