I seen some posts on here about same problem. So I have already re-soldered parts Q605, D647, Q605, C690, D645, R691, and Q691. and for the first week everything was fine. Then problem came back. The whole back of this board is dull gray, so i decided to clean up some of these connections hopeing this would solve the problem again. No luck with that. I stayed away from all surface mounts (micro resistors and transistors) execpt in the power supply area (Q605). Where should I start looking for voltages? I have a multimeter in order to get voltages, resistences, and capaitors readings if needed. I would prefer a responce by besee, seeing that i've been following his advice on this matter. Or is it time to throw in the towel and get a TV repair tech?
Your problem is in power supply section in your tv.
if it is ok check for h/output section.
This problem may also be due to moisture content in the flyback transformer
surrounding area. Due to this moisture content screen control voltage
is changed. Without getting a exact voltage the indicator will not
stop. 5 times blinking is only for screen malfunction. Make one general
service by cleaning the deflection area and adjusting screen control
the problem is solved.

Hi Baddragon, I do not want to get in between you and Besee. however, since you are thinking of Throwing in the towel. I suggest you think of stepping back from component level repair on Circuit baords, and think about going to PC board level troubleshooting. This is easier, more expensive, and your more apt to succeed. It is very tedious working with Surface mount components. Basically overly time consuming. We can get the circuit boards you need from www.partstore.com. Just get the part numbers from the Circuit boards you have been soldering on. You may want the challenge of component level repair. You did say your staying away from surface mount components, a new circuit board solves that problem. I hope this helps you.

Around 8pm 10-13-07 I finally got the set to surn on by remote. So any damage I thought might have happened, wasn't so. Replacing that board I would think would be costly. However, because I'm looking for a permanent fix, this might be an alternative.
Please read comment posted 10-14-07
I dont belive that is the fix im looking for.
