Question about Harman Kardon HK206 Computer Speakers

HK206 SPEAKERS WITH USB PLUG

I HAVE A DELL COMPUTER WITH A PENTIUM 3 AND HARMAN/KARDON HK 206 SPEAKERS. THE SPEAKERS HAVE A USB PLUG. ALL I GET IS HUMMING. CAN ANYONE HELP?

Thanks for your suggestions. I bought the whole computer from work for $50.00. I talked to them and they said that I can just exchange the speakers for another set with a regular plug on them. (I already tried another set and they worked).

Have you plugged anything else in to make sure the usb port is working? does the computer recognize the usb speakers when you plug the usb plug into the computer? do the speakers work on another computer? if you wiggle the usb wires around does it make a sound through the speakers? eliminate these questions so that we can move on to isolating the issue.

Will Harman Kardon HK 206 speakers work with Windows 8

I just purchased a Dell XPS 8500 with Windows 8 and decided to keep using my old Harmon Kardon HK 206 speakers because I'm quite satisfied with these speakers. When I hooked them to my new PC, Windows 8 recognized them right away. The speakers work great on my new PC. Try going to the Control Panel and see if your speakers were recognized. (On my PC they're referred to as "Speakers (Realtek High Definition Audio). That's due to the default drivers in Windows 8. As long as you see speakers in the control panel, you should be OK. In that case you should check your connections. If you don't see speakers in the control panel, go back one screen and select add a device and let Windows 8 scan for any device that it hadn't recognized before.

Will Harman Kardon HK 206 speakers work with Dell Inspiration 560 with Windows 7 and if so how do you hook them up and install

since they are stereo they should have not issue. just connect the 3.5mm jack to your output port typically the green audio jack.

Need the AC 15V 1.1a power supply

Hi Tracy,

Wow, this was a hard one. I called both Harman Kardon and Dell, seems HK made the speakers for Dell, but neither company carries parts any more. I called Radio Shack thinking they would have a generic power supply, not even close. I looked at several places on the internet and had no luck.
I do have a little good news, I was able to find a few on Ebay, so if you don't mind buying used, you can get a power supply there. They even have a Buy Now offer so you would not have to bid on it. The power supplies are listed as 1100mA which is the same as 1.1A.
Also, if you get the it and the plug in is not the right size, take the speaker to Radio Shack and they will be able to sell you the correct plug, all you will have to do is splice in the new plug. With it having an AC output, you don't even have to worry about the wires being crossed as you would with DC. Hope this helps you.

I have a harman/kardon class 2 transformer model# 661520oo3ct. It was with my computer equipment but not hooked up. I don't remember what it was for. what uses does it have?

it comes with ur desktop speaker harman kardon hk 206. it is a 12v 1A dc power supply. u can use it in any equipment which needs that power rating. only thing to remember is, check the polarity of both before connecting.
