507 error, BB Desktop & Device issues, PC connect issues, Loader?

Phone / Provider:BlackBerry 8700 Cingular/AT&T provider.

PC: HP zv6000 with Vista Home Basic (32 bit OS)

Problem: Unable to download OS on phone -507 Error / PC does not recognize phone when connected to USB.

Solutions Attempted with no success:

1.Downloaded latest of version of OS to PC.
2.Attempted to utilize the MML / MFI Loader with no success.
3.Downloaded Device Manager
4.Downloaded BlackBerry Desktop Software Manager.
5.Attempted with no results JL_Cmdr utility
6.Deleted Vendor
7.Reinstalled Rapi.dll
8.Attempted to find and delete intellisync.dll
9.Downloaded 8700 specific software no results.
10.Attempted the 4.7 version software update, no results.
11.Have BlackBerry Tool Authintication Manager (do not understand this utility)?.

Reason: My curve 8300 was stolen. This was an old phone a friend had at one time, trying to use it as a back up. I have a second number and line available to utilize with AT&T with an authorized fresh SIM card. Though when it worked for a few hours and I tried to upgrade with accidentally deleting OS there was only GSM, no GPRS or EDGE available, need help there too. Thanks.

    also I have found that when loading the software on the desktop manager, take the battery out first and start it from a completely off condition.

Jvm errore 517 in bb 8320 how can i solve

Hi,

To correct this, follow the steps outlined below from RIM:

1. If not already installed, download BlackBerry Device Software and BlackBerry Desktop Manager from the wireless service provider web site.

2. Install BlackBerry Desktop Manager and then install the BlackBerry Device Software.

3. Use Application Loader to reload the software on the BlackBerry device.

But, if it is on warranty, it is better you go for a replacement.

Hello, I have got a BB Curve 8520 with the Reload software 507 message. Any easy solution?

Error 507 simply means the OS is not present on the device.

Connect your 8520 back to the USB cable into your computer and run Desktop Manager > App Loader again. It should recoognize the device, connnect and process the installation.

If "Reload Softare: 522" error is displayed on the BlackBerry smartphone, just upgrade to the latest available BlackBerry Device Software version provided by your wireless service provider to resolve this issue.

Download & install BlackBerry Operating System for your phone model from HERE be sure to select your exact provider from the list, after installing delete the filename "vendor.xml" in c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader
Connect your device to your computer. Open the BlackBerry® Desktop Manager. Click Application Loader. Click Start in Add/Remove Applications or Update Applications. If necessary, perform the following actions: If the Device Security Password dialog box appears, type your device password. Click Next. If the Communication Port Selection dialog box appears, specify a communications port. Click Next. Click Next. Perform any of the following actions: To add an application that appears in the list, select the check box beside the application. To add an application that does not appear in the list, click Browse. Double-click an application loader (.alx or .ali) file. Click Next. Click Finish.
PLEASE be PATIENT the processes involved may take some time, the whole process would take about 30 to 45 mins, so if you see that it looks like nothing is happening dont try anything just wait for it, it is just NORMAL.

The track pad on my bb curve8520 won't scroll the phone is only 3 month's old service provider told me to mail it back to bb. any solutions

First, download and install the latest version of BlackBerry Desktop Manager software from: https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads/contactFormPreload.do?code=A8BAA56554F96369AB93E4F3BB068C22&dl=DA5FB46338C8C0DCB1039F7898184FC5

Once installed, connect your BlackBerry to your computer via the USB sync cable. Open Desktop Manager, and click the Application Loader. On the right, you will see Update your device software. Click the Start Button, and if your BlackBerry is not on the latest Handheld Software, an update will appear. Select the update, and run the install. Be sure to select the option that backs up and restores your data. Once started, do not shut down your computer, or disconnect the USB sync cable as this could damage the device.

Once completed, your BlackBerry will restart and you will have the latest version available. This version has been known to correct various issues.

If the issue is still present, then it could be hardware related, and may need to be repaired or replaced. I would then suggest contacting your Service Provider again for Hardware Support.

Blackberry 8100

error 507 means that the operating system on the handheld is missing.

1) Download the latest version of the handheld os from your carrier's web site
2) Execute the downloaded file
3) Locate and delete VENDOR.XML from your PC's C: drive
4) Connect the BB and start Desktop Manager

It should reload now.

I was trying to upgrade my software on my new blackberry nextel but the entire software was wiped off and now i get a message saying reload software 507. please help

507 means your phone thinks it has no operating system on it.
you need install Desktop Manager. then connect bb. open application loader from DM -> install OS to your phone
PS:must remove vendor.xml in Program files on computer. Dwonload the DM from this link: http://na.blackberry.com/eng/services/desktop/ Or go to your provider's website and download it from there. 507 error resolution

The error message indicates that no applications are loaded on the BlackBerry smartphone.

The following are possible resolutions for this issue.
Cause 1
While using the application loader tool to install BlackBerry Device Software, existing applications on the BlackBerry smartphone are erased, and new applications are not loaded.

Complete the following steps:
  1. Verify that you have the BlackBerry Device Software installed on your computer. Before you use Application Loader to install software on your BlackBerry wireless device, verify that the necessary device software is installed on your personal computer.
    To verify what device software is installed on your computer
    1. In Desktop Manager, click Help>About Desktop Manager.
    2. Click the Device Software tab.
    The Device Software tab lists the device system software installed on your computer. If the tab is blank, then no device software exists.
  2. If your BlackBerry smartphone is connected to a laptop computer in a docking station, disconnect the laptop computer from the docking station and connect the BlackBerry smartphone directly to the laptop computer.
  3. If a third-party program, such as a virus scanner, is using the same communications port (COM port) as BlackBerry® Desktop Manager, close the third-party program to free the COM port for use.
  4. If you are using a USB adapter to connect your BlackBerry smartphone to a serial port on your computer, temporarily connect your BlackBerry smartphone to a computer with a USB port.
  5. Open BlackBerry Desktop Manager and double-click the Application Loader icon.
  6. Use the application loader tool to install the BlackBerry Device Software.
Cause 2
All data and applications are removed when an incorrect password is typed ten times into the BlackBerry smartphone.
Complete the following steps:
  1. Open BlackBerry Desktop Manager and double-click the Application Loader icon.
  2. Use the application loader tool to install the BlackBerry Device Software.
Even after performing these steps if you could find the same error, please let us know so that we can provide the further resolution.

Error code 507

Basically this means that there is an error with your BB operating system or software, you will need to reload you app's though apploader through your desktop manager.

Pulling the battery out while the device is on is worth a try before you reload the os, this is called a hard reset and fixes 80% of BB issues.

Phone will not start

CauseError 535 means the BlackBerry device is out of memory. The error might appear because the virtual memory thread scheduler ceased when a thread ran out of memory. This error is known to occur during a start-up sequence or if the main event thread ceases.


ResolutionFirst, hard reset the BlackBerry device by pulling out the battery while the device is on. If this does not resolve the issue, obtain the latest version of the BlackBerry Device Software through your service provider. Then, run Application Loader in BlackBerry Desktop Manager to update the BlackBerry device.
