The GPS Worked fine last year when it reached the extreme temperatures of -40 C in Calgary, this year it went to -40 last night and this morning when I tried restarting my GPS it didn't respond. I have brought the GPS at home and it's been few hours but it's still not yet starting. Please Advise,
SOURCE: no power
I had exactly the same problem with a 3 month old Zumo 550. Removed battery, waited a few minutes and replaced. System now poers on OK. All data on-board was retained.
SOURCE: GPS Won't Turn On
My 510 was doing the exact same thing.
I called customer support and they helped me get it working again.
866-486-6866 is the number but here is what they had me do.
I had to push down the reset button for 15 seconds (the reset is in a small cut out near where you plug in the charger on the bottom.you will need to use a pin and you will feel the pin push in the button if you have it in the right spot.)
Then release the reset and hold down the power button for 10-15 seconds. the screen should come right back on.
If you need more help I suggest calling the 866# they are very helpful.
SOURCE: no gps signal
I have had my GPS( TOmTOM One) on Waiting for Signal for 2 weeks now and I finally fixed it.
My symptomtoms (word play) were no signal at open areas, when connected to Tom Tom Home it showed exactly where I was and worked through the PC but when disconnected back to the same thing.
I called Tom Tom CS and nothing, FLash did nothing, factory defaults nothing, and updating did nothing.
What I did:
I charged the unit completely.
I took a paperclip and while off pressed on the reset button at the bottom by SD slot. I held it there for 30 mississippi's.
I did not turn it on after letting go.
I went outside to my car (parked on roof of parking lot) turned it on and set it on my dash vertically.
I left and came back in 1 hour and wallaaaaa. It is working perfectly!
Let me know if this fixes it.

SOURCE: While using my Magellian GPS 1200 the screen froze
More then likely when the screen froze up on you it it had a little power glitch as well, nothing serious but it did wipe out some of the information in it's memory about the SD card.Power the unit up and let it come up with the error, then use the reset button. Might be hard to find since it's just a little hole with the word reset around it, using a paperclip push in the button and see what happens. If the error comes up again then i am thinking that you will need a new SD card. Quick test for this, remove the SD card from the gps unit and try rebooting, it should come up with an error, no SD card or no map, stick in an SD card from another device, 2gb, see if the gps can find the card, it should give you an error that says unable to find maps. If you get these error codes then most likely the gps unit is fine but it pooched your programs on the SD card.
Hope this helps
