Amp light is green getting a base like heart beat nothing else fuses are good

When detailing the inside of my truck I bumped the back of my sub box. 1 speaker stoped working. then I moved my seat back and the whole thing stoped working. shut off everything disconnect power from battery and plugged back n and that's when I started to get the base like heart beat sound. I put in back up head unit, no difference. I changed out RCA's, no difference, re ran speaker wires no difference, changed out subs, no difference, changed out amp, no difference, checked wireing behind head unit, normal hook ups all connected nothing touching. checked groung, snugged. any help would be very helpful. thanks. btw its an autotek at1000, I believe its like 400 maybe 500 wt amp

The only thing I'm wondering is if you shorted out the RCAs somehow. Try switching the RCA's to another output on the back of the deck, if you have more than one set.

If that's not it...you will have to add pieces of the system one by one, starting at the deck, to see if you can troubleshoot the problem. Very Odd.

Good Luck

Testimonial: "hey thanks for the help. i actually went out there and disconnected everything and waited 20 min for it to reset itself. i hooked everything back up and it all came back to life like there was no issue to begin with, untill i started my truck. now its enjen noise. assuming a ground problem or remote wire. notice a slight kink n the remote wire. may b the issue. any other ideas im all ears. thanks."

Check the grounds...deck and amp. Also make sure the power wire to the amp is not run too close to the RCA's as it can induce noise. Keep them as seperate as possible. Good Luck

SOURCE: Car amp's stopped working. Putting out a heart beat sound through subs but no bass.

could be low current ,disconnect all power including ground for 20min N.B most amps will seem to be shorted at output but this is normal due to damping ratio.

SOURCE: Sony XM-2200GTX...Power, Green Light, All OK, No Sound!

Sony generally drives their power light from a source that does not rely on the amplifier's switching power supply. This means that it's not a good indicator as to the health of the amplifier.

As long as you have B+ and remote voltage, it will light up. Since you've tested the speaker and the signal source, I think the amplifier is likely defective.

SOURCE: Protection Light Is Coming On

You say the protection mode only occurs when you plug the RCA's in. Does it have to be both RCAs or just one?

The other end of the RCA cable is plugged into the HU?

It possible the RCAs have too much DC voltage on them, causing the amp to go into protection.

Is there a short in the RCA cable?

I would definitely check out the RCA connection at the back of the HU, as it sounds like there could be other issues there. Make sure the RCA connectors aren't touching any other metal (especially +12V).

SOURCE: Amp powers on but sub does not come on

I would double-check your RCA's on the amplifier. You should hear a thud if you unplug them. If not they are either not hooked up or defective.

I have a Kenwood 1800wat amp with to 10" Sony kickers, I was driving to my new town when all of a sudden the subs stopped working. I reached around and pulled 1 off 2 fuses were blown and it was a 40amp...

If the fuse should blow up; there might be a reason. Shorted component at the power amplifier circuit board of the sub-woofer amp. It will be best to contact any service technician to check the set. Never insert a fuse and switch ON the set, till the fault has been detected and rectified. It might make things worse.

Kenwood KAC-8103D short?

probably popped a diode in the amplifier circuit. The thumping sound is most likely power feeding back through the circuit, so it will have to be replaced professionally unless you have acess to the proper soldering equipment for IC boards. Hope this helps, even though it is bad news

Constant pounding of subwoofer

Have you tried another pair of RCA's? Sounds like you have a bad pair of them.

Kenwood KAC-8103D short?

sounds very similar to something that has happend to mine. if you check the fuses in the amp and they are fine, i recomend replacing the fuse in the power wire. if you are using the glass tube type fuses, sometimes the soldering at the endcaps melts, but the filament doesnt pop. the fuse appears to be fine, but isnt. that happend to me a few times. i had to upgrade to ANL type fuses

No boom in my box

Whats up!!! well check this out. The sub isnt working at all? don't hear anything from it? more then likely it can be one of the following problems.

before you do these steps make sure that the amp levels are all the way low so you dont have a chance in poping the sub for unnecessary jolts of power

you can check to see if the sub itself is good by getting a AA and touching each of the speaker +- on the sub see if you hear anything. More then likely the sub itself is good.
Moving on to the amp. Do you see any lights? red/green? or none

if no lights check the pos/neg terms and make sure there properly installed. have to check underneath the hood for that while your there check the fuse if its a inline one if not then there should be a fuse located on the amp itself.
if you see green then the amp is getting power and the amp is properly grounded
if nothing check the grounding and make sure thats its connected to the frame of the vehicle either by sanding down a small piece of the metal exposing the silver and using a self-tapping screw.

SUBWOOFER NOT WORKING?

if you have real old wires from the amp to the sub try getting new wires on it. check the little wires that go to the cone itself on the sub. sometimes they can manage to get pulled out of their terminals and make sure that thier touching the terminals on the correct spot
