The PS3 browser doesn't work so well with that kind of stuff. You generally do all the authentication during the setup with your wirless router.
Try changing your password, using a different brand of routers, or simply change your security type like TSPK-WEP, or plain TSPK

Yes you can change the security code by going into your router settings. Depending on which router you have you will have to type an ip address into the web browser to acces the routers menu. Google your router and see what the ip address of it is and then google how to change the wireless key.

Security Code is configued in Wireless Router itself.

Please open your Wireless router Admin Panel in Internet Explorer. Please follow this steps.

1. Open Internet Explorer and type : http://192.168.x.x and press enter (x is router IP. Generally its 1.1 or 0.1)
2. Go to Wireless Security Tab and look there for Security code.

Now type that Security code in your Ps3 .

You find all details regarding to access router in internet explorer from Product Manual. (you can download product manual from Manufacturer site)

Please follow the steps on a computer connected to the router so as to check the network key:

1. Open a web browser (Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox or Safari).
2. Access the router, usually by typing 'http://192.168.1.1' or 'http://www.routerlogin.com' in the address bar.
3. Login to the router with the Username as "admin" and Password as "password" (please note that Username and Password are case sensitive).
4. Click on Wireless Settings (under Setup) from the left menu.
5. Check if WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy) or WPA-PSK (Wi-Fi Protected Access Pre-Shared Key) is selected under 'Security Options'.
6. If WPA-PSK is selected, copy the code entered in the passphrase(or network key).
7. If WEP is selected, copy the code entered in the key that has been checked.

This is the code required for connecting the wireless PS3 to the router's wireless network.

In some cases, for security reasons the passphrase might show as asterisks. In this case type a new Password and click apply. You will then have to use the same Password for all the wireless devices connecting to the network.

OK for your WPA you can check the security key by accessing the router http://192.168.1.1 .. password is by default "admin" and username is blank...go to the "wireless" tab and check the ssid...under "wireless security" check the security key...if you have "wep" check the numbers in "key 1"....
now make sure that you connect to your own ssid and type the correct key...
and you are right , you need wlan to connect to the internet wirelessly...however , first make sure that you have internet working through the router..if not you will have to configure the router and for that you a computer connected to the router...

The security code, that is called network key, is stored inside the router.
Check your router manual, it will tell you how to connect to the router using Internet Explorer.
You put router IP number on Internet explorer bar and open router control panel, then you go into wireless settings, and there you find the key.

In security settings press and hold select + square + L1 and L2


than enter 1 of these following codes depending on your version number

1.6x code: 7568
1.7x code: 0506
1.8x code: 7712 or 7259

and the ps3 will be unlocked from demo mode!
but be aware that this will only be for a couple of minutes.
so make sure you have the latest firmware the not demo one but the ordinary from the playstation site on a removable storage media
something like a memory stick or flash drive

so you can update immediately after unlocking you ps3! only this way you can completely unlock your system
