Open Computer Setup by turning on or restarting the computer, and then pressing f10 while the "F10 = ROM Based Setup" message is displayed in the lower-left corner of the screen.
If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
Thanks, Joe

Hi there.
To change the boot order to the CD drive you will need to access the bios, to do this you will need to restart the pc and hit either Esc or Del as the pc starts up, once in the bios change the boot order to the CD drive as the first boot device, save the changes and exit the bios, the computer will restart and boot from the CD drive.

Good luck and thanks for using FixYa!!

Hp compaq nx6110 hangin when booting and difficult to recognise the hard drive

Try booting into safe mode by pressing F8 at startup until the boot menu appears. Then select "safe mode with networking". If it boots into safe mode then see if your missing some drivers in device manager. If you are then download and install them. Next run some anti-virus and anti-malware programs to make sure your system is clean.

Boot sequence for compaq evo n800 laptop

You need a system disk first of all. Put the disk in the drive, turn the computer off then reboot. Watch the screen for which key it says to hit to change the boot sequence or boot order. Hit that key when it is shown. This is a one time solution that is only for the current boot process.

To make it permanent, boot the computer an notice what keys it says to hit to get into the Bios or System Setup. Hit that key when shown. You can change the boot sequence or boot order and make it a permanent change in the bios. The most common and best boot sequence is to have the CD drive 1st and the Hard Drive 2nd. Just make sure no disk is in the cd drive when you boot it up or you will get a error saying no boot record or system disk found.

Hi, I'm installing widows xp in HP Compaq nc6220, but after setup loading files the mesaage (bottom of setup screen) "Setup is starting windows", then it did'nt contiue the installation,...

1 many times the the CD cant load as the files in the CD are corrupt or the CD is not read by the drive corectly...so get a new WinXP CD
2 try an external CD drive if your BIOS alows to boot from USB drive....(connect the external CD drive to the USB and make necessary changes to the BIOS boot seq in the BIOS screen...
BIOS screen can be enabled by pressing the F1, or F2 or the Del key as on as you start the PC
3 once in BIOS screen look for boot seq and change the boot drive to the foll
1st boot device - USB CD / DVD rom drive
2nd boot device - internal CD rom drive
and so on

if you can do the above then try the WinXP installation using the external CD rom drive....
else there is a little complicated method of using a pen drive thru USB (will discuss that later) provided your BIOS alows booting from USB

HP COMPAQ NX6110 LAPTOP HANGS WHEN BOOTING, BUT WHEN PRESSED AROUND THE MOUSE PAD OR HARD DISK AREA IT WORKS , BUT HANGS AGAIN LATER

It seems that the hard drive or the memory module is not seated properly and hence after pressing on the area below keyboard it gets released.
You can try following things.
Remove and reseat the Hard drive.
And remove and reseat the Memory.
Try to power on the laptop again.
If is getting hang again then you may need to do the HDD self test and memory test built into BIOS.

Hp compaq dc 7600

When you boot your computer, you need to hit the key to get you into the bios setup. F10, F2 or Del keys are the usual ones.

Once into the bios, change the boot order to make the CD drive first, and then you will boot right to the CD.

Note, you will also have to hit a key when it starts to boot, it will say, hit a key to boot from CD.

If you miss the key to get into the bios, you have to start over again. Sometimes you have to hit the enter bios key over and over to get in there.

Nx6110 boot issues

Try using an external CD drive. Some machines will allow you to boot from an external and some won't. If yours does and the external will boot from the CD, then your CD drive is bad. Usually it's the optical eye that goes out on these, unfortunately you have to replace the whole thing.

How can i get rid of the compaq logo even after i format my hard drive .

The screen that I think you're referring to is the OEM BIOS splash screen.

This particular logo / image has nothing to do with your hard drive... it is embedded on a physical chip (EEPROM or ROMBIOS) on your motherboard.

It is possible to make modifications to this particular splash screen (through a hardware hack), but I don't recommend doing it. The screen shouldn't be a problem; it sounds like you might be experiencing a "Boot Order" issue.

I'm assuming you might be having problems with the Boot Order if you're having issues with loading your OS from CD. When you have the Windows CD in the CD ROM and you reboot the system, you should see the following message flash up on the screen (immediately following your OEM BIOS Splash screen):

"Press any Key to Boot from CD..."

If you don't see this message and your CD ROM Doesn't spin up and begin to load windows...you might have a Bad CD ROM, bad CD "Disc" or...you might not have your BIOS Boot Order set up correctly.

HOW TO FIX IT:

To get into the BIOS Setup on a Compaq Presario system, do the following:

When the OEM Logo Splash screen appears, press F1 to enter the BIOS Setup.
Note: On certain Compaq Presario PCs (prior to 2002) press the F10 key at the logo screen to enter setup.

To change the Boot order:

Here's the URL for Compaq's Online FAQ for Changing the Boot Order:
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=bph07110&lc=en&cc=us&lang=tr&man_lang=en&product=1843681&dlc=tr#N1310

Try changing the Boot Device Priority in the BIOS Setup: Make sure that the "CD ROM" entry is moved "Before" the entry for the Hard Drive and Network PXE:

Example Boot Order:
  1. CD ROM or Removable Media
  2. USB
  3. Floppy (if you have one)
  4. Hard Drive
  5. PXE (Network Boot)
This should help you load the OS successfully from CD (if you're not being presented with the "Press any Key to Boot from CD..." notification when rebooting with the Windows CD in the CD/ROM drive.

Please repost if this fixed your problem and rate my response!

Good Luck,

LounaTech
